Sandals Negril Wedding reception

My Fiancé and I are getting married in June 2013 at Sandals, Negril.  We have a definite 20 people attending so far but may have up to 40 people. I wasn't sure if it is worth it to do the full dinner or should i just upgrade to the hour long cocktail reception. If we do the hour long cocktail, we could follow up with dinner at one of the restaurants.  With a 40 people, would that be crazy?  I'm at the point where i need to decide on how big or how small to do the reception but am also trying to avoid spending our money on unnecessary things.  I have heard that the weddings that sandals provides are beautiful and i want to upgrade wherever I should, but reasonably. Is a DJ and 4 hours of dancing on the beach necessary when the resort has all of that to offer anyway?
