How early did you buy your dress?

I bought mine the first week of April 2012 and am getting married in May of 2013. It was a sample, so it is hanging in my closet. I am going to bring it to the tailor after the holidays to have the alterations done.

Not to sound stupid, but what exactly is a sample? Lol thanks

A sample is a dress that is the one that people actually try on in the store, (or it may have been a dress that was ordered and not picked up) Some times they are damaged or a little worn. I was lucky - mine doesn't look like it was ever tried on.

i ordered my dress 10 months out it came in 6 months before the date my streamstress said that any dress can be brought down 2 sizes so unless you are planning to drop more than that i would order asap

I bought my dress about 11 months in advance, even though it was a sample and will need very few alterations.  I found it and didn't want to pass it up!

I bought mine with just under 8 months to go and I was so stressed that I wouldnt find it and then I would have t rush order it....so I am so happy/relieved!!
