Join the club. I'm getting married in July 2014, I already booked our ceremony and reception venues, wedding organiser, sent out STD and our wedding website by email, working on Wedding Invites at the moment with the designer (I want to send them out by July 2013).

Melia Caribe is the resort thats literally right beside Jellyfish! I also wanted to book the Jellyfish restaurant as well for my wedding- I used the email on their website but didnt get a response (its been well over a month). Can you PM the email you used to contact Mayre? That would be greatly appreciated!!  I must just have a bad email...
P.S. I also plan to do spring of 14' and Jellyfish for the wedding- la barcaza for the reception- for resorts; I'm hoping to get rates cheap enough for H10 Blue/Sands or Majestic Colonial/Elegance- it all depends on pricing though! I've got nothing booked- its sad really!

Happy Planning though!

Really enjoying reading everyone's plans. I am so anxious to flight information to come out ( aka prices) so my fiance and I can finally make a concrete decision on where our wedding will be. I'm so impatient!

I agree - I love hearing why/how everyone is deciding on their resorts. We are looking for a small resort in Playa del Carmen that is budget friendly for our guests. This forum has been great for ideas on where to begin!

Hey girl!

Not sure if your still considering Hard Rock Punta Cana, but my friend just got back from her wedding there and said everything went off without a hitch and it was absolutely beautiful. All the guests had an amazing time, loved the food and accommodations, and want to go back to Hard Rock in a year for a family reunion! Definitely heard nothing but positive feedback from their experience! Only negative was the mosquitos...but you will find that anywhere in PC!

Hope that helps :)

My wedding date is: May 17, 2014

HI Jenn,

I am still up in arms with the resort choice.  I originally fell in love with Hard Rock, but when I came across the Jellyfish restaurant, I fell in love with that too.  I want a resort that is fun and caters to all ages.  I wanted my wedding and reception to be a private event.  The Jellyfish restaurant gives me that option with out giving me time restraints.  I am 40 and my FH is 50.  We love to have fun and so do our guests.  My only concern right now is the distance between Hard Rock and The Jellyfish restaurant.  I understand it's about a 40 minute ride.  I am also considering, Dreams Palm Beach and Paradisus Palma Real.  Such decisions.....!!

Hey guys, I am also getting married in January 2014 which still seems soo far away! I get really excited sometimes and want to plan stuff but I dont know what needs to be done yet even, lol. We are going through travel agents who specialize in destination weddings. They have told me they will do all the booking, etc and take care of everyones trip payments which is nice. We can't even 'book' my wedding day and time until may 2013 so until then I dont know what to be doing hah. What are you ladies doing to get an early start on planning? So far we have the resort and date picked, and we are bringing a photographer from out here with us to do the photography out there. Otherwise I have just been looking through ideas on here & finding lots of stuff! :)

Hi Sharon,

Jellyfish is a great option if you want something more private, but I understand the transportation issue. I think Paradisus Punta Cana is about 30-20mins away. Paradisus Palma Real is in the same area as Jellyfish though so that would be a really short drive, as is the Melia Caribe (Melia owns the Paradisus chain) but it is a 4-star I think, whereas the Paradisus resorts are 5-stars. Although, a 40 minute commute to and from a wedding back home is not uncommon, so I don't think it should be an issue either way!

How I chose PPC? PPC was the first resort I really looked into and I happened to fall in love with it as well! Then I spent a couple months researching other resorts, but never got that same "love at first sight" vibe. I finally decided to trust my intuition, and booked PPC! I think you have to listen to your 'gut' and go with the place that makes you most excited to marry there!
