Thanks ladies!! I can go onto the Barcelo thread and know exactly the locations the girls are asking about! Zenman, yes I was able to meet with my WC, we pretty much have the major details worked out like locations and wedding package.. I have to wait till I book my flight and room to start with the smaller a details. I'm just happy it's finally coming along!

I was getting so pissed and its only the first STD

 

Ohhhh and I said to his sister. Please it's not like anyone actually considers Halloween a pagan holiday. To which she raised her hand as in to say " I do"

 

 

Now add to that

 

None of my so called best friends have even called me to ask about the wedding since I told them I was engaged over a month ago.

My fathers " how much is this shindig gonna cost comment"

My moms " your not wearing white re you?" Comment

 

And the fact that I'd rather elope As it is , I feel totally deflated.

 

This is supposed to be a happy time in my life and instead I just wanna cry. Mainly because I always see in the movies and on tv all these people with tons of support.

 

Let me clarify that everyone Is happy for us and want us to get married. I just feel super lonely in the process.

I can relate. My uncles asked why I was doing it in Jamaica and not in the states. They also asked why not Colombia since that's where we are from.

My fiance's father also complained. He asked why not Dominican Republic if what i wanted was a beautiful beach and a resort. My fiance's huge family lives in DR and I want a smaller wedding in a neutral place where neither of us has ever visited. It is an excuse to cross a place off our list!

Then my father in law tried making my fiance feel guilty by telling him that since the wedding is not in DR or in the states that he will not bring his 4 small siblings.

It's sad they cannot come but my fiance and I gave a year and a half notice that we were getting married in a random country so that they could start to save up so I do not want to hear the whole money excuse.

Either you come or you don't. Either you want to be there or you don't. All I need is my fiance and parents to be there for my day to be as perfect as it could possibly be. My fiance just needs his mother and sister to be there to be happy too so as long as those people are there, all is well.

I am tired of trying to please everyone because that is truly impossible. I guess I will be selfish for an occasion that is MY and my fiance's WEDDING.

I refuse to change what my fiance and I have already planned for anyone. We already downgraded the resort because we wanted it to be as affordable as possible for our guests. We are dealing with moving in together soon, buying furniture, paying for debt & school debt, plus the wedding. I just want afford anything more.

I also wish I had just eloped!

Just a quick suggestion.... For those ladies who have kids coming to the wedding (might even be good for couple oot bag too) .. Something to consider adding to your oot bags may be swimming tubes .. During my site visit, I noticed A LOT of people at the beach and pool with tubes/rafts and I was sooo jealous i didnt have one that I wanted to run and buy one at the shop but was not willing to pay $18 for a raft I can get for $3 here. With that said I went to Deals and picked up 10 tubes for the kids for $1 each. They were kinda small but hey it will do the job. LOL

I'm sure I could get someone but don't want to ask anyone and have them feel like the 2nd string plus the BM dress order has to go out by 7/31, everyone else has ordered theirs and put their deposit down so I don't want to hold it up.

Hopefully she can work something out and be able to attend and be a bridesmaid

The pearl letters on the ribbon are self adhesive but I was concerned they might come off from being shipped and handled so I decided to dab a little glue on them before putting them on the ribbon.... then of course some glue would ooze out the sides a little (no matter how little I tried to use)   so I had to put the glue on with a toothpick then with a different toothpick clean up the edges....... in the long run I am sure this was a good idea but DAMN did it suck!!   ahaha 

 

Don't even get me started on  the wonderful time I had tying the ribbons 

 

I am glad they are finished for Sure!!

 

I think for my invites I am just going to call people and be like "so yeah we invite you - you coming or what?"
