Absolutely go look asap!

Are you referring to RK Bridal? I've been there, it's a no frills kinda place but the best prices on dresses period. I actually have my TTD which was going to be my ceremony dress until I fell in love with a damn Vera!!!

So the general consensus I got on the serving set was not to even bother! To use the one from the resort.

Definitely gonna check them out Oops sorry got my M's confused meant Massachusetts. .thats qheew the store is from the show. Maybe you will find a few places close to mom. If you have a specific designer you can search shops that sell by location or just Google shops close to mom. Can she take a trip to be closer ro you or a misske point? Then maybe you can all fo together
Wait! One of those shows is filmed in Mass? Which one? I have lots of options I think.. If I end up going to my Mom's and there is nothing really close to her we would always go to some place like Baltimore which is only a couple hours drive. She does come up this way every now and then so we could plan something when she does that. I'm really not worried about it... I just don't want to do it HAHA Once I get to the store I'm sure I'll have fun :)

I found the gown is filmed at Vows in Watertown. My friend got her dress there you can score some sweet deals but its not like the show she said. It's a no frills kind of place vs some of the other Boston bridal boutiques

Goodness not weird at all I am the same I hate it..don't even like grass touching me with shoes on. I have seen some really pretty barefoot sandals I want to wear..Didn't imagine how pricey they were.

so glad to hear you say that! Every time people hear me say "I don't like grass" they look at me like I'm nuts! haha I also don't like standing on grass with shoes on either.

All this talk about sandals .. I just came back from Aldo and bought 3 pairs! They are having a huge sale! I just bought casual summer sandals but they did have cute fancier ones with sparkles etc that aren't too expensive. I may look into them when it comes to shopping for wedding sandals.

Oh cool sounds like we have very similar wedding in the plans here. I like the idea of it being so small that everyone will really get to feel like they are part of the wedding... We are each only having 1 friend... and the friend we each chose is prefect because their other halves are our good friends too .. so really we get 4 of our very best friends. I told my friend that even though I'm not doing a wedding party she is my honorary Maid of Honor, which is exactly how I would have done it had I done a wedding party... my sisters would have been bridesmaids.

I don't think my FI had an opinion either way...

So because of the no wedding part/ very small guest list thing.... I am asking everyone to wear white/light beige ... I have a couple of reasons for this.... Are you having a dress code??

That's sweet you have one each and you all are such close friends. My FI and I have separate friends and we don't mix and mingle lol

As for a dress code, I am requesting everyone to NOT wear dark colors. I love bright colors so I want the ladies to wear colorful dresses and the fellas to wear gray/tan/khaki/light blue. No black or navy. No jackets but I want them to wear ties.

Have you seen barefoot sandals? I think they are really neat... I would want to be barefoot if on the sand but I love the idea of a little accessory :)

My only concern with barefoot on the beach is that I have read stuff where the sand is too hot to do so... anyone else heard of this problem? Hmm sounds like I should get a pair of flat sandals too (darn it more shoes hehe)

ohhh cool, I just googled them. That is the best of both worlds of being barefoot with some accessory!

I guess it depends on what time of day when the wedding would be. I imagine noon/midday it would be hot but later on near sunset, it would be cool.

However... I'm not sure I want to change my name so that wouldn't really make sense.

Anyone else decided/ing on not changing your name?

NOT changing my name. I'm one of three girls and we're the last ones in my family with our last name. Our father passed away at a young age when I was just a kid so I want to keep our family name in honor of him. I told my FI and he is OK with it because of my dad. However, he does prefer that I change it. He tries to guilt me (only half serious) by saying "don't you want to have the same last name as our kids?" My reply is that we're not any less of a family just because we have different last names.

How was your experience at RK Bridal? That was one of the places I was going to go. I've heard you should go there knowing exactly what you want otherwise it's a mess and confusing.
