Any other 2014 brides here getting an early start?

The resort will be putting the bags in everyone's room for me.  I can still keep the hats not in the bag and just have them lay them next to the bag. 

 

In playing with the bags I realized that the smaller bags might be better for the beach anyways (I assume (hope) everyone will be using them while in St. Lucia as beach bags).  They have an almost plastic coating on them that will probably be easier to whip the sand off.

I love the idea of sun hats so cute and greeting people in the lobby is such an amazing idea!!!

 

Welcome bags are the one thing I keep wavering on. I really want to do them, I just don't want to lug the stuff with me. I was thinking of doing something simple like a tumbler with a letter in it and some hangover essentials/candy stuffed in it.

 

What I originally wanted to do was a beach bag, tumbler, hangover kit, snacks and a beach towel but then I realized there is no way I'm getting all that down especially when b/w my wedding and honeymoon I need to bring 3 weeks worth of clothes. I thought about having my family pack some stuff, they don't live that close but I thought maybe I could give them the stuff at Christmas.

 

I've also thought about having a dinner party/get to know the wedding guests get together before we go to thank everyone and give them their gifts then. I know not everyone will be able to make it but then I'd be bringing less with me.

LOL  - I have a hard time packing one bag for a weekend and I'm not high maintenance - I just never know what I wanna wear ahead of time. I have NO idea how I am going to pack for two weeks AND bring all this stuff without bringing waaaaay too many bags.  My FI is going to kill me for sure!!  The only thing I keep telling myself to make it all okay (which I know is a lie haha) is that I am going somewhere warm and tropical - I wont need a lot of clothes cause I'll be in bathing suits and cover ups the whole time.... right?  hehehe 

 

I really want to meet everyone in the lobby as they arrive.. but I don't want to not be able to do stuff cause I have to sit in the lobby too much.  So I am hoping everyone (at least for the most part) will come on the same day... I don't mind blocking one day out .. I figured I can hang out at the pool closes to the lobby and just go to the lobby around the time that each couple will be showing up.

 

You could do something really cute with tumblers.  If you do the individual packs of stuff like aspirin and pepto you could easily put a few in each inside the tumbler with a letter and other small stuff. Cute and Compact - I like it!!

 

I thought about towels but I know the resort provides them and I am sure they are nicer then ones I could find at a price I would be willing to pay - so that is one thing I am not adding!

 

I think it is a good idea to have people pack stuff for you, if they don't mind.  I would do this but I want to keep things a surprise so I will just have to figure it out on my own : (

 

The dinner party is a good idea too.

 

How many tumblers would you need?   I really like these but you have to buy them by the case (24) I would want to do both colors but that would be more then twice as many as I need.

I don't know if you can return stuff to the store that you bought online?  Or if you wanted to do a group buy - we certainly live close enough : )

I'm actually having my mom, my dad, FMIL, FFIL, FI, my brother carry an extra suitcase if I need it so that's how I'll keep things a secret. Also, if you don't want to meet everyone in the lobby, you can designate a time to meet at like a bar and hand the welcome bags out then. I don't think I will give them out at the Lobby b/c honestly I don't want to carry and they'll probably travel the same day as me and I'll probably have to pack everything unassembled so I can see myself the night I get in putting the bags together!

Awwwwww I LOVE it - cute and subtle! People can still use the bag again without feeling like they are advertising your wedding!

 

 

I did see the multi pack but they also have Blue and Green ones that only come in 1 color per case, and I don't remember seeing those colors in the store.. I know I saw the red and orange ones. 

 

Do you know if you can return items to the store that you bought online?

I'm adding Tumblers to my bags. I bought them from the Dollar Tree and had them delivered to my house and I'm going to put waterproof labels with our logo on them. Here's the logo I'm putting on my welcome bags. Not my design, found it on google...but the FI "loves" it and he hasn't said he's "loved" anything about my ideas yet LOL

Absolutely love your logo. Where did you find it? I'd like something similar but in my red and ivory colors and with Riviera Maya instead of Punta Cana. Did you say you bought hats for your OOT bags? I thought about customized baseball caps for the guys but it would be nice to have a hat. JennyPert

Looks Like you can't! If you are near a Dollar Tree I would just go pick them up as I can. I live nowhere near a dollar tree so I had to ship

Jenny I actually just found it on google. I googled "punta cana tote bags" and the image came up! No, no hats in my bags

Hi JennyPert...

 

Excuse the interruption... I think you might have seen a post that I am doing hats in my bags.  I thought about baseball hats and/or visors but I ended up deciding on Sun Hats.  I already have the ones for the ladies... they are plain so I am going to add ribbon and a flower.  I haven't gotten the guys ones yet but there are some on oriental trading that I will probably get.. the price isn't too bad so if they don't wear them I wont be too upset.  I actually saw some at the Christmas tree shop today I liked better... if I can get them on sale I will pick those up.

 

Custom Hats is cute... what were you thinking of doing to make them custom..  your wedding logo or the name of your destination or something specific to each guy?
