Any other 2014 brides here getting an early start?

I am also a 2014 planner and feel like I am a little crazy for thinking and wanting to plan so early in advance. I agree with the above posts - destination wedding STDs over a year in advance seem like a wonderful idea that the guests will appreciate. Its also good to check out the boards and collect of the good ideas I have saved and then figure out where to start!

I'm an early starter! We have the date and location set, but that's about it. Getting married in May 2014, so at least I will hv plenty of time to give people advance notice and become a DIY queen! Anyone using a travel agent?

Hey everyone!

I'm a 2014 bride also. We just got engaged, but I feel like I've been mentally planning my wedding for the 5 years we have been together. We have always wanted a destination wedding, and after pricing out venues at the beach here in NJ, we just simply can't afford to do a full blown wedding here. I am sooo excited to get started with the planning process. We are thinking about Jamaica or another island in the carribbean. Can't wait to hear about everyone else's planning!

You 2014 ladies are lucky-- enjoy it! I am supposed to be May 2013, but we haven't finalized even our venue yet. So I am considering moving it to 2014 because I am so behind the power curve, paralyzed by indecision, and May 2013 seems to close, it is starting to freak me out! 

 

I love DIY'ing, but as each day passes, I don't see how I will have time...Which reminds me of something else I've been wondering about: isn't it hard to DIY when you know everything will need to be packed/shipped to your destination?? Any tips/feedback appreciated.

2014 bride here!!!! I got engaged memorial day weekend and have booked my wedding at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana DR! We will be getting married in March of 2014 and going for our site visit the last week of this month. If anyone is considering getting married in DR I am also going to do a site visit at Dreams, Paradisus, and the Now Larimar as well as the Hard Rock just to ensure i picked the right resort. I can give you ladies some info when i return from my trip. I am NOT a DIY bride i don't have a crafty bone in my body and i figured by the time i figured out how to make all of this stuff and ship it down to DR i probably wouldn't be saving much money at all. Cant wait to share tips and get through the stress with you girls! Congrats to all of you!
