April 2013 Vow Renewal at ILA: still waiting for Lisette (WC) to confirm my date, after a week of emailing and calling today :(

Hi everyone, I had sent a request to the ILA regarding vow renewal ceremony prices and packages, and I did manage to have Lisette, their WC email me saying that yes my date April 8th was open, but that I needed to confirm with her asap if I wanted it and book my time as April was filling fast. Well right away I emailed her back to confirm and have yet to hear from her!! It's been over a week and I am getting nervous. I have emailed her personally at the email she provided, as well as involved my TA who has emailed and tried to call. When she calls, it beeps and beeps and the extention does no work so whoever answers the phone just takes a message, so we are not sure the WC is getting our message.

Has anyone else had this type of problem with them???

I very much want to start working on my own DIY wedding invites, but without the date confirmed and time, I can't!!

Any input regarding contacting the resort would be appreciated!

Thanks JoyLee, that is the email I had. I got my travel agent involved and I finally got a reply. She said she was having issues with her computer. My date is now confirmed! Yipee! So where are you holding the ceremony?? upstairs terrace? When she emailed me, the only options she mentioned was either the terrace or the beach. For some reason I had the impression that they had a small gazebo on the grounds somewhere. I will only have a small group, anywhere from 10-18 people, so not sure if the terrace is the right place. I may need a more cozy setting. I look forward to hearing how things went for you and hopefully see pictures! Good Luck : )

Hey Thanks, and we chose the terrace as opposed to the beach. Just from what I have been reading, I think the beach will not be personal enough with random onlookers, uninvited guests etc etc.I like the look of the terrace not to mention I'm sure our guests will appreciate having a roof over their heads on a hot, sunny Cuban day at 2pm in the afternoon. Should be a little cooler anyway, or so I hope. We have 58 guests so it should be a nice size. Not too many, not too little. Its coming up so quickly now, so so excited.....

Well after much consideration and advice, we have also settled on having the ceremony on the terrace. With the decorations and the arch, things will look very nice and at least I don't have to worry about sand blowing, my hair will hopefully stay in half decent shape haha, extra people around around, etc. This way we can also take advantage of the mic use for saying our vows as for us it is a symbolic ceremony as we are renewing vows after 25 years. Good luck with your special day, hope it's everything you want it to be and then more. I look forward to seeing photos if you will be sharing. Have you joined the ILA Brides FB group? I just got accepted a couple days ago and wow, what a fountain of information! Lots of pics as well.
