Wow! This is beautiful. If you attach it to your hanger I think it will be sturdy enough right? Your dress only hangs on the wooden part of the hanger. Yes, you'll have to be gentle with it but it should be okay.

This looks so good! Your "m" looks great too. I think it will stay sturdy, it's just a for looks type thing. I had used 16 to practice too.

Thanks Ladies. I guess I'm not concerned about damage whlel in use, but keeping it protected while it's in my luggage.  Fi suggested that I wrap it in a couple layers of cardboard and I should be good to go!

Why not carry the dress on it, then it's in Carry on the whole way?  You gotta carry the dress anyway.

 

You did fabulous, it looks professional and amazing!  I wish I had used the 16 Ga instead now!

I finished this DIY project today, I'm happy with the results!!  12 ga is definitely harder to work with but the wire is much more sturdy!  I may sponge paint the hangers I'm not sure (probably should have thought about this BEFORE I finished them, oops)  They only had natural hangers at my Target, I wish I had been able to find the dark wood hangers.

Ya I had to use the natural hangers, I did paint it before I finished it. Either way yours still look great

The tutorial was extremely helpful I must say! I would never had attempted making mine if I didn't see this tutorial! Thank you so much!

 

I do have a question though...I got all the way to the end where you stick the wire into the drilled holes...I put would glue in there...and they wouldn't stay in! Is there a trick to getting them to stay? I ended up giving up and wrapping each end around the hanger..and I might add a flower over it to cover it up...but I'd much rather do it the right way. I'm wondering if the holes were drilled a little too big? I'm going to give it another whirl. Any tips on drilling, placement of holes, inserting wire would be appreciated. Thanks!
