Hi!

We are having the ceremony at 6pm on the beach, then cocktails on Cielo Terrace and the reception on the beach. We are expecting close to 50 ppl. What about you?? What days are you staying (we are Apr 24 to May 1). We will have to find each other!

Novia, I am really shocked to hear this! Were you working directly with the resort or with a travel agent at all? I wish you the best of luck getting everything planned all over again.
I was Working directly with the resort.. my refund is being processed.. 3 to 6 weeks.. which I find kind of ridiculous too. Everything is going great at The Royal. Thank you for the good luck wishes! :)

Hi ladies! Congrats to you all on your upcoming weddings! I'm a May 2013 bride that happens to live in Playa Del Carmen in the Riviera Maya. I saw that there were a couple of brides in this thread that are getting married down here.

First, I wanted to offer my assistance if either of you has any questions about the area. We've been living down here for a year now and know the area quite well. Throw any questions you may have my way!

Second, I'm in the process of collecting some decor for our rustic vintage themed wedding down here on May 22nd. I'm having a hard time finding everything I need since the area caters mostly to tourists and doesn't really have a ton of options in the way of home decor. If anyone having their wedding in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum or anywhere in between would like to sell some of their decor items to me please let me know! This may also help with baggage fees on the way home ;)

These are some of the things we are still looking for:

- anything that would suit a vintage or rustic style wedding

- a birdcage (rustic looking if possible)

- string lighting of any sort, exposed bulb and christmas lights

- props and frames for a DIY photobooth (nothing too cheesy, we're think more of a "gentlemen & ladies" style"

- oil lamps or lanterns

- tin buckets of various sizes

- one parasol in any shade of purple, teal or turquoise

- small glass candleholders

- burlap runners that are around 13 feet long

- white or teal paper lanterns

- white or teal paper picado (as long as its not personalized of course)

- a wooden or metal ampersand symbol

- a birdcage

- barefoot sandals for size 8 feet

- anything else that's ivory, blush, lavender or turquoise

Thanks, and happy planning to everyone! You guys are getting really close! :)

Hello New Brides...Lindsey Marie and Chyna!!!

I am getting married at Playacar Palace in November 2013.  I was really hoping you girls could provide me with any helpful tips and information.  We have chosen the Pearl Shimmer option and are getting married at 4:00 pm.  I am a bit curious as to whether or not either of you hired a local photographer or just go with the one that the resort offers?  Did you do a reception at the resort and do you have any tips/advice?

Thank you both so much!!!

Jenn

Hello all... We got married here on March 30th 2013. I have to say it was perfect. We did the complimentary package and added our own simple touches. We had cocktail hr and dinner in the Italian food restaurant. We had about 30 people and used the wedding terrace to avoid all of the crowds on the beach. It was lovely and very intimate. If any if you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm happy to help. I will try to upload photos too. Amy

Hi all.

I am new to the thread and looking for some advice.

There doesn't seem to be many grooms on here but, I'm all you blushing brides can assist.

I have taken on the planning for my fiancee and I and have some questions for the brides in Canada.

Did any Canadian brides book through a local travel agent and receive the complimentary cocktail reception and dinner based on room nights?

I have read that you are only entitled to get the complimentary services if you book directly through the resort.

Can anyone help?

Thanks all.
