Bailing Bridesmaid

Recommended Posts

Honestyis best. As brides we have plans to make! I asked my bf BEFORE deciding on a DW. , and only decided on it because she "wouldn't miss it for the world". They may regret not trying harder to attend one day, but that will be on them. Chin up ladies! We're gonna have a blast on our dws!

So sorry that your friend did that to you. How frustrating! I think I will be okay with my bridesmaids because I am only having 3, my sisters and best friend, but I could see one of the groomsmen backing out because he is kind of a flake and hasn't committed.

I know it is a lot to ask people to spend the money to come to your wedding, but it is a vacation for them and if they know they can't afford it then just say that to begin with! I am completely okay with people saying "I will really try to make it" because then I honestly count them out and if they end up coming then great! I just hate when people so 100% yes then bail.

Good luck with everything!

I know what you mean about them being in their younger twenties. All of my friends (whether they can attend or not) who are closer to my age, late twenties and older, have been upfront and fantastic. If they can't make it they told me up front and have been sweet and NORMAL (oh how I love when people act the same way they usually do). If they can they have been cheerful and asked when they can pay the remainder and remind me how awesome it's going to be (how I love them). But the younger ones have been distant, whinny, rude, and fake. As someone who was never jealous of people getting married (and can't imagine why a 22 and 24 year old would be upset that their older friend is getting married) I don't see the point in it.

  • 1 month later...

Hope everything is working out for you ladies. I'm still not there yet, almost 5 months left to go & I don't have the slightest idea who will be there by my side. My friend has done everything possible to get her way to Mexico, but some how I still have a gut renching feeling she will flake out. *sigh*

I started with 4 and now I have 2. And one of them doesn't give me a great feeling in my gut. But at this point I've learned that a lot of people have people in their wedding parties that were political or didn't work out as life long friendships. So I'm just looking on the bright side. Also, I'm asking one of my best guys to be up there. I wish I had asked him in the first place. I hope he says yes!
