just curious what is the cruise up the bavaro coast.... I am looking for something between wedding and supper for my guests....  im at the gran bahia principe in dominican Jan 8th

I really only sent my save the dates out so early because most of my family is in Ireland, so I wanted to give them notice so they could plan and save.  I just sent a magnet with a picture of us (I hadnt found a design that I really liked so I just picked on of www.magnetstreet.com and rolled with it.  As for invites, I picked the 'love airways' invites off of the same website made a few changes but overall I love them (I am not DIY, especially with 3 little helpers - that dont help as much as confuse the situation!).

 

I have read so much on the Majestic Colonial and we knew right away that this was where we wanted to get married.  These forums are so helpful and I am getting so many good ideas.  You should check out the Majestic Colonial Brides group on facebook too.

I'm definitely going to check out magnetstreet.com.  And will also check with the co-op travel here in the NW (Arbour Lake).  Didn't even think of using them!!

 

I forgot to ask you, with your original post, you mentioned your bridemaid dresses.  Do you mind if I ask where you got yours, and what the style is?  My girls are hoping I'm not going to ask them to spend a butt-load on their dresses, and so far we've seen a lot of beautiful, flowy dresses from places like Le Chateau that I think would be amazing on the beach.

 

And did you end up getting the travel mugs yet? Just wondering how they turned out, as I saw on the Facebook group, someone's logo came off.  (Didn't really read too much to see if they put the logo on themselves, but I've heard of it happening to people that ordered it off a website).

i found my bridesmaid dresses in edmonton at davids bridal  they where very resonable...  I should have my mugs by Novemeber and can let you know how they turn out.

I need somewhere to vent a little and though that you girls would understand... so my travel agent had a death in her family and is out of the office for who knows how long, so I am working with another lady, she had to re quote my wedding trip and she came back to me today with numbers in the $1900 range, and cant find flights for my family from Winnipeg  I thought that this was all taken care of and now what am I supposed to do, this new girl said that My original TA got quotes for November this year... who in their right mind would plan a wedding a month away give me a break, now all I can do is sit and wait and pray that she can find another travel company to get the prices down I am so upset I feel like crying Sorry I had to get that out!

First of all, it is a LONG time away, everything will work out, so don't worry! 

 

Firstly, definitely get another quote from a different travel agent. 

 

Secondly, go back to the person covering for your original person and ask for them to honour the previous price since you have already made plans based on that price. If she's a bit*h then tell her that you will wait until the other lady is back. You've got a long time still, so I think you can hold out for even a few months (and in the mean time, look for a new travel agent). 

 

What resort are you going to? I went to the Iberostar Veradero and had an excellent travel agent organize that (for a wedding) out of Lloydminster, but she organized trips from Edmonton, Calg, and Saskatoon. I'm sure she could do it from Calg and Winnipeg. Her name is Gina and she works from the Carlson Wagonlit Travel in Lloydminster , 780-875-4414. I regret not using her for my wedding. The bride and groom said that she checked their prices daily until they got one that was low enough for everyone. Mine is a piece of shit lol who really doesnt care about getting the best prices or anything.

Ok I just did some little travel searching myself, and it looks like the prices just aren't out yet from Winnipeg, but they likely will still offer seats. I ran into this problem too when I booked so early. I know it's hard to be patient but you will probably get a better price if you wait until a bit closer to your date.

Thanks ladies, she is going to go out and check with other tour companies... I am so annoyed! And the whole Winnipeg thing apperently with Sunwing they arent flying from there until December!

 

Jreist - Thanks I think that I will give her a call, I kind of made that threat last night, and this lady doesnt seem to care, she told me that if I want to find another TA that I should go ahead and do that, maybe I will write the head office... this is a chain so maybe they can do something! Just so maddening that I have gotten this far and now I feel like I am starting all over again!!! And I love the original lady she has booked our last 3 trips and she is so easy to work with and gets back to me ASAP with everything I am sad that she had a death in the family that really sucks but this was a month ago and still no return so I am not sure when she will be back!!!
