How big is your wedding??

Recommended Posts

Well, looks like our #s are finally starting to come together.  We invited 125.  Our RSVP was 2 weeks ago and I've still got a few people that I have to harass for answers.  But overall it looks like we'll be at 64 people, which I'm really happy about.  I didn't want a huge wedding, but also didn't want something so small either that it wouldn't feel like our BIG day!  For those folks that still haven't answered (which I reached out to last wk and STILL haven't heard yes or no..just oh...i dont know yet...WTF?!!) I am sending a final text/email tonight saying something to the effect of, "Well I never heard back a definitive answer, so unfortunately I am submitting my #s to the resort and not including you as headcount.  If you do decide to join us, let me know down the road and I'll see if we can increase headcount and if the reception space will allow for more people".  That's it.

My FI and I both have a lot of friends/fam so we originally invited 132 people expecting about 50 of them to book. Currently we are at 60 people who have booked their flights and about 20 more people who say they are coming for sure (uh oh) We didnt exactly realize when we invited all of these people that the hotel was going to charge anything above and beyond 25 guests. At first we were pretty worried, but we are now realizing to get married at home would have cost us even more and wouldn't have been nearly as fun! I wouldn't change any of the people we invited, but would caution those who have not sent out invites to ensure that you understand that a lot of people will ask for +1's and just to be aware of the size of group that is included in your package so you do not bust your budget.

We're inviting about 125 and expecting somewhere from 60-75.  Most of my friends have been married for several years and already have kids, so I'm already prepped for the fact that at least one of my good friends will probably be pregnant and unable to come - or other similar situations.  If we can keep it at 75 or below I'll be very happy!  It's shocking how fast it all adds up, even when you try to be reasonable!

I hear  ya.  We invited about the same, and 57 people have confirmed yes, but I'm giving myself a few extra seats just in case.  If we have 60 people that would be great, anything more than that the costs start going up significantly again.  Between paying per person for anything over the package deal (mine is 24 people), plus extra costs i.e. OOT bags, favors, welcome party, etc it adds up!

We sent out about 70 invitations and 35 guests are booked.  We had people who were saying that they would be there and haven't bought tix yet.  I've just been counting the people who have put donw a deposit or who have guaranteed me that they have bought a ticket elsewhere.

We have about 58 people who have booked and paid. And more than seem to be changing their mind (originally rsvp'd no and now all of a sudden want to come again). People seem to think with destination weddings that it doesn't matter and if they can get a cheap flight down "maybe" they'll come... umm no. We budgeted/expected 35 people so are WAY over that. A week with family and friends though.... priceless.
