Congratulations to you!! I agree with you about a beach wedding. I actually decided to not have a beach wedding for two main reasons. It definitely would not be a private affair since other guests would be in the vicinity of the wedding sunbathing or hanging out on the beach. I have also heard many terrible stories. I also am not a fan of having my wedding dress dragging in the sand. I am scheduled to have a garden gazebo wedding at Dreams Punta Cana primarily because of the ambiance and privacy. Although other guests may be able to see or hear the wedding activity, but I will not have to worry about anyone walking around my ceremony area. You should really take these things into consideration as you make your final decision.

I am a Canadian Bride too! looking to get married sometime in 2013.  Just doing all my research, and trying to find the best places for our guest to stay.  Looking into the Melia Caribe currently,  Anyone have any other suggestions for all inclusive resorts?  We also really want to have our ceremony and reception at the Jelly Fish Restaurant.  They have a great private a secluded resort that includes everything you need including transportation.  Hope you get some great advice!!  Congrats to all the brides to be!!

Hi Sandj, I think if you book an inclusive package with any resort the ground transportation to and from airport is included. we look at the Melia, we also looked at Dreams, Majestic Colonial, Riu Palace, and altimately decided on Gran bahia Principe Esmeralda. the biggest deciding factor for us, was the options of wedding packages that best met our wants. We also wanted a good balance of luxury and price for our guests.
