Nice - thanks!  Do they allow your guests to rsvp for say, a boat ride or other wedding event that you are having?  I'm hoping to have people RSVP to a boat ride where I've also splurged on a bathing suit by a fabulous Trinidadian designer! I am also a ruffle-nut and they back of the coverup on the white bathing suit is FULL of lovely ruffles to the floor :)

The white suit? I love it! Very bridal and beautiful. They do allow for ESCO's and you can an immediate reply which is nice. What are you doing for a boat ride? I was thinking of doing something similar?

So although I have been moving at kind of a snail's pace... although I should be getting back the proof of my invitations sometime this week- I did receive my personalized wedding hanger.  After scouring Etsy page by page and doing some thourough analysis on the way the letters come together and how each letter aligns with the next, I purchased a hanger from Deighan Design.  I truly think that she does some of the best work that I found on Etsy and could not be more thrilled with the final product.

I have also found a woman on Etsy who makes great flowers that go on different accessories such as clutches, ring bearer pillows, etc.  Once my dress arrives and I can match the colors exactly, I am going to order a bunch including an orange flower to affix to the hanger.

Her store is called FallenSparrow and the flowers look amazing!! Here are a couple pictures of some of her work.

  • 3 weeks later...

At times I seem to be a rather thrifty shopper... after being a bridesmaid probably one too many times, I learned about a bridal salon that you can order your dress from and it gets shipped directly to you, thus saving hundreds of dollars.  So of course this is what I did, and after much anticipation, my dress arrived on my doorstep last week.  This presents several problems.  First of all, I can't stop wanting to try it on- I hid it in the guest room closet but the whole idea of out of sight out of mind just doesn't seem to work when it comes to your wedding dress shameonyou.gif  Two- I can't stop unzipping the bag to take a peek.

The biggest eye opening experience that I had and thankfully it did arrive this early, I came to the realization that I probably had a few too many margaritas at the pool this Summer, along with pizza, beer, and pretty much anything else I could find and you guessed it- the dress doesn't fit.  And when I say it doesn't fit- I am not blowing this out of proportion- literally does not zip.  Not even close.  So I guess I have to finally start hitting the gym.  So for the last three days, I have had my gym bag nicely packed away in the car.  Where it has sat nicely for the last three days.  Fingers crossed that tomorrow is the day that I go for it but I am not holding my breath.  In some ways I find it comical, but it others it is kind of a bride's worst nightmare come true.  I guess it really should be motivation though!

I also ordered my shoes for the wedding which I love- they are the Badgely Mishka Zowie.  I wanted a flat shoes so that if I last minute changed my ceremony to have it on the beach, I would still have a shoes that works.

But after I was all set with the dress and shoes, I happened to do some more online shopping and came to another purchase....

One one other note... I got back a proof from Sarah Sproullie... Does my RSVP make sense to everyone?  I at first literally thought that it was asking my guests to tell me if their passports were ready... huh02.gif  Then I understood.  Sorry that the image is a little bit blurry but I would love to know your thoughts or any other RSVP wording ideas that would fit into the space allotted.

Your right at first the passports ready and flights cancelled were confusing but after reading it again I got it. We put "yes our bags our packed" and "sorry we sunburn easily" on our RSVP.....still in the process of making them! I showed a few friends and family and the response was really great and they thought it was cute. It might go well with the mad lib portion! Hope this helps! Oh and don't stress about the dress it will fit and will be amazing! And I love the shoes!

So back to the online shopping fiasco.  I was talking with my mom about the idea of a reception dress which I must say I have always had mixed feelings about.  Here you go spending all this money on a dress that you feel beautiful in, and then you go to change into something else?  Well, I happened to find a dress that somewhat resembles my wedding dress yet also happens to be in my main wedding color.  I am requesting that guests all wear white or a very pale shade to the wedding so yes, I would definitely blend in at first.  Until- the reception kicks into full dance mode and I enter the reception wearing this...

At that point, I will be the only one wearing a bright color, wearing a fun "Mexico-ish" dress.  I feel that this will also give a different vibe or change the whole feel to the reception at that time.  So as much as I love my dress and will be sad to take it off, I am also excited for the energy of this one.

So back to the wedding shoes, I love the ones that I picked out, and they are romantic and fun and girly, but I am not sure that I can justify keeping those and then getting the next pair that I also like which happens to be a dyeable shoe.  I am now toying with the idea of just getting the below pair and having them dyed to match the orange dress and also wearing them with my wedding gown.  I know that lots of brides do wear colored shoes, I am just not sold on the fact that the orange shoes would match the "look" that I am going for with my actual wedding dress.  I would also love any thoughts on this!

I kind of picture being the romantic bride during the ceremony which my fiance will love, and then going to spicy and fun... No idea what to do about the orange shoes...

Thanks for your thoughts, maybe I will email and see if that wording will fit in the allotted space!
