I personally would still recommend Puerto Rico.  By not staying at an all inclusive, it gives your guests more of an incentive to get out and see more of the island and eat different foods instead of staying on the resort most of the time.  Just my two cents

For all of my PR brides, what is everyone doing for their honeymoon? Are you going to stay at the same hotel as your wedding, or look for a different one?

 

If anyone has any suggestions of different hotels let me know.  I will be staying at the Marriot hotel and stellaris casino for my actually wedding, but was thinking of staying at a different hotel after all my guest leave.or maybe just stay their since I probably could get a good rate.  What does everyone think??

We are getting married at El Convento in Old San Juan, but are planning on going to St. Martin/ Maarten for our honeymoon.

 

If we had decided to honeymoon in P.R, we would have stayed at a different location such as a resort on Vieques or something else like that.

I have to agree that we should definitely go to another hotel then the one we are getting married in!!

Dos Angeles in Rincon is nice and inexpensive.  It is considered a guest home so it is not very large but was quiet and clean when my husband and I stayed.I believe there are four or five different rooms. It is a little ways from town but we had no issue getting around or just hanging by the pool. 

As far as all inclusives, PR no longer has any resorts that fall under this category.  There are some, especially near Rio Grande where you can add meal plans and such.  I have always found that I can do as well or better than an all inclusive when staying in PR though.  You might lose some convenience but half the fun is being exposed to so many different places and people!  Good luck ladies, Puerto Rico is a beautiful island!

Good Luck to all the PR Brides! I was palnning my wedding for March 23 2013 in Long Island NY. But a few things have come up and we've had to postpone the date. We are looking at a date towards the end of August 2013. And guess where my wedding is going to take place this time around, God willing?! Puerto Rico! Thats right! Puerto Rico does it better! Excited!

You are me....  We have in common all the same vendors with the exception of our wedding venue.  We're getting married at the Carribe Hilton.  Please keep me posted on how things are going.    I'm feeling a little overwhelmed but having Rosalina helps a great deal.  Good luck with your planning!.
