Iberostar grand hotel paraiso-newbie! Need advice! :)

Recommended Posts

Are there any new Paraiso brides?  kittykat and vanessa - can't wait to see how your wedding go.  Celebrated my 1 yr anniversary at the Grand and it was amazing.  Wish I had my wedding there.  Any of the Iberostar resorts are wonderful.  Can't go wrong with them.  Let me know if anyone has questions about the resort.

I am considering getting married at the Grand Paraiso, but lost of my family would be staying at the other resorts. Do you know if kids are allowed at the grand for a wedding, given that it is an adult only resort. Also, does anyone know if the beach ceremony is off to the side and a little more private? Thanks.

Hi to everyone! Hope all of your weddings were spectacular!  I'm looking to plan a wedding at Iberostar Grand Paraiso for next summer but was hoping for a little bit of insight..

Are you guys happy with your choice of having your wedding there?

Do you have any pictures, videos, etc.?

What was your final budget--if you don't mind me asking.

Any info you want to offer would be greatly, greatly appreciated. THANKS :)

I am heading there next Thursday 7/17 for my wedding on 7/21! I can update you when we get back from our wedding and honeymoon after 8/4!  As of now, I have been very happy with the planning being done between me and the hotel so far. As with most destination weddings, you have to remember that between the time you sign the contract and your wedding date (however far out it is) they have many weddings in between so they don't want to get into ALL of the details of yours until 3 months before the wedding. I reached out weekly from November until April because I wanted to book special events etc.. and they were happy to do that. They made lists of everything I ever requested and when the 3 month mark came around and I received our actual wedding planner, she had all of the details listed out, priced out and planned out. We also visited the resort last October when we were deciding and it was by far the most glamorous hotel we saw. We actually think it's TOO nice for us and they probably have no idea what is going to hit them come next weekend with 40, 30 year olds at the pool bar :) We did go with the Dream Package, the most expensive starting at $5.250 but to us, when comparing to home, that was not a lot to start off at.. We did plan a welcome beach party the night before the wedding with fire dancers an cigar rollers, a private catamaran the night after the wedding and extras here and there so we've spend over that amount but we feel it suits us best and we may have saved a little bit of money going down to Mexico as opposed to having a typical Chicago wedding. Hope some of that helps. I can give a better review once we are back. Can't wait!

Hi everyone! Happy wedding planning!!

I'm planning to get married at Iberostar Grand in May 2015 and I'm having trouble figuring out where my guests need to stay. Ultimately we'd like most people to stay at the grand, however we know some of our guests will be bringing kids and will need to stay at The Maya or Lindo. Does anyone know how strict Iberostar is with their rule that 80% of your wedding guests need to stay at the hotel where the wedding is? Right now, it looks like well have more like 60-70 percent at the grand. I'm very worried later down the road this is going to be a big problem so any guidance or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!
