Hi there, I'm looking to have the ceremony and reception at Royal lahaina resort this December. I had a few concerns and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/tips/advise. 1) last time I was in Maui in June. It got very windy after 1-2pm. The ceremony would start at 4 and dinner would be outside. I'm worried it will be too windy to enjoy dinner... Thoughts? 2) rlr offers a luau each night- has anyone heard if it'll be noisy during the reception? I do prefer having the cereMony n reception outside by the ocean ... So I don't really like the idea of moving it indoors...

We just got married at the Royal Lahaina on April 21st.

Our party was on Maui for 8 days and spent a lot of time at the resort.  Sometimes it was windy and other times it was more of a gentle breeze.  On our wedding day, the wind kept picking up my cathedral veil, but honestly, it just added to the moment.  We got married at 3:00 pm.

The luau can be noisy, but most receptions are held on the lawn on the opposite side of the resort, which, if this is true for you, the noise can't be heard from.  We didn't have our reception there but stayed in an oceanfront suite on the luau side and could hear the noise some nights 12 floors up.
