You are right, orchids are not cheap, but I am only getting married one time and I envision orchids EVERYWHERE! lol  My color palate is based on two of my favorite types of orchids:

Maybe dude is like... A coast thing lol... My mom even says it haha.love these flowers omg! So jelly. I'm prob getting whatever the resort provides as far as flowers go. Ie roses or lilies I'm already splurging on so many other things I just can't justify more flowers.

I feel like ive been missing from this thread lately.. Only 1 week to togo till my wedding social. So busy.. and sooooo stressed out but also super pumped!!

what's a wedding social?  Like is that the Canadian equivalent to an engagement party?

No not really. Most people find it kinda of tacky but its a manitoba tradition and if you dont have one people go crazy asking why you dont have one. But heres the basics... You rent a hall usually for 300-600 people (depending on the size of your family and how many people you think you can get to attend) you get a liquor permit adn alcohol enought for the amount of people you expect to attend. Then usually close friends and family and business donate prizes for a silent auction. Then you sell tickets usually $10 a ticket to friends and family and everyone you know, and they sell to everyone they know.. till you sell as many tickets as your hall holds. It like a fundraiser to celebrate the couple getting married. Like i said most people find it tacky.. but where im from theres socials practiacally every weekend and sometimes they are not just for weddings... i have been to socials for everything from fundraisers for pet shelters... lawyers fees... even to help to guys backpack europe! lol. Really its just a good excuse to party... drinks are cheap $2.50 or $3.00 (cheaper than any bar) theres free food and prizes to be won.

that sounds like fun!  I would want to go to one but not organize one Cool tradition
