I want to do magnets as well!  Did you have yours made or did you DIY them? I can't wait to see your STD pics!!.. Make sure to post the link here when you get them uploaded.. :o)  I'm in need of inspiration!

I'm working on mine this week, we want to get ours out at our 1 year mark as well which is approaching fast. I want magnets, but with the prices and our long list of people to send to, I was thinking about printing them on cardstock and attaching a magnet to the back of each. (Going to HL today after work to search for huge strips of magnets that are cutable. :o)

Nope, don't know him, but did he happen to go to North Cobb High?  That's where I went, Class of 2001.  Once I was an adult, I moved to Marietta.  Now, I'm all the way across the country!

I did do my own save-the-date magnets & posted them here:

I used a big paper cutter I have from my long-ago days of scrapbooking, so cutting was easy.  Not sure if those things are cheap enough to justify the expense (can't remember how much I spent on mine), but I'm sure you could either get a cheaper, smaller one somewhere, or maybe you could pay a few bucks to use one in a scrapbook shop.

I also have no flower girl or ring bearer!  I have been wondering about he idea of what to do about the rings.  I have been so consumed with finishing my STD's I feel like I am falling behind on everything else!!!  I do like the idea of a clam shell, but it seems to big to keep in the boys pockets and I am worried about the MOH carrying it.  I am curious to hear what other ladies did or are doing.  Keep me posted.

What do you guys think? Is that tacky? I found a couple but none I like yet, as soon as I have one I like I will post it.

Thereâ€s nothing tacky about improvising and being creative with the details. I am actually trying to conjure up a plan ‘B†for my ring bearer.  The parents have the on again off again relationship and I donâ€t want to all my eggs in one basket. Any-who, let us know when you find a clam shell.

We're not having a flower girl or ring bearer.  The kids we would ask will likely not be at the wedding, and we don't want to ask other kids just to fill the spots, when they're really not necessary.  The maids of honor can hang onto the rings for us, and we're probably skipping the petals down the aisle, mainly to save money.

okay so I have found these, which I think are adorable. They can customized to your color (not the shell, but the bow). I plan to have the MOH and the BM present them when asked for the rings. What do you guys think.?

Choco - The ride from Soliman Bay to Playa is definitely like a 30-35 minute ride, but we are booking transportation for our guests from the villas to GC and back.

Booking the villas has definitely been costly since we are covering the majority of the cost for our guests, but in all honesty, a wedding in Mexico has turned out to be cheaper than a wedding for us in the states, so we plan to go ALL out now for our wedding in Mexico ;) A wedding here in the states would have costed us a fortune because both of our families are extremely large. We would have been looking at a 500 person wedding here minimum! In Mexico, on the other hand, we are thinking somewhere from 40-50 guests and with a whole lot of less stress involved.

You guys are on the right track paying everything in cash! You never want debt from a wedding or a bad taste in your mouth after your BIG day is over. We are paying everything in cash too and that's a MAJOR part of the reason that we are waiting until May 2013.

Any wedding in Mexico will be beautiful though :) The water and nature out in the Riviera Maya is just simply amazing!

I need some input from my May brides regarding photography.  When are you ladies taking your newlywed photos – before or after the ceremony?  I see pros and cons with both options, but canâ€t make up my mind. As of now, my ceremony will commence at 5:00pm, cocktail hour at 6:00pm and dinner reception at 7:00pm. The sun sets in the Riviera Maya around 7:20pm in the month of May and I really want to capitalize on getting great newlywed shots during this time, I might even push my timeline back by 30 min.  So as of right now,  Iâ€m planning on taking newlywed shots after the ceremony, during the cocktail hour, but I hate that my guest will be waiting around for us and we donâ€t even get to enjoy our own cocktail hour. On the flip side, I love the idea of the big reveal when I walk down the aisle and my Fi sees me for the first time.  And I donâ€t necessarily want to take newlywed pics at 3:30pm when the sun is strongest and Iâ€m in my silk wedding dress on the brink of sweating my tushy off. Thoughts, comments, suggestions….Iâ€m all ears.

We're going to be doing a first look at around 3:30 before we head to our venue for the ceremony. I love the idea of that special first time that he sees you all done up. We'll do some pictures then and then the rest with family and bridal party after the ceremony during the cocktail hour. I'm hoping that way the photos after the ceremony aren't as long.

We're going to do the "first look," with pictures of us before the ceremony.  This will give us time to take each other in and have a moment to ourselves, before everyone else is involved.  I really think it'll be so much more amazing this way.  Plus, we plan to walk down the aisle at the same time (not exactly together... we're doing two aisles, if that makes any sense at all), so we'll be able to concentrate on making it up there without trying to stare at each other the whole time.  I'm a klutz and would definitely fall on my face if I had to walk forward while looking sideways!  Even if one of us wanted to stand up there as a groom would, I would still want that first look to be just us, no one else around (except the photographer, of course!).

I hadn't given this much thought at all, so glad you ladies posted about it. I'm thinking that I don't want him to see me until I walk up the aisle for the first time! I plan on taking pictures right after during the cocktail hour. In my friend's destination wedding, this is the way it was done and since everyone was mingling, no one really noticed the difference.
