I'm curious how many usable photos I should end up with..

we only had 5 hours of coverage - 3.5 wedding, 1.5 TTD.  We recieved +/- 750 images and I love +/- 400 of them.  I really struggled selecting my favorites for our wedding album; I used close to 150 in 40 pages.  Some are very similar with subtle differnence that have a huge impact and evoke something a little different.

Probably crazy and not true, but I'm convinced that our coverage is amoung the best work our photographer has ever done.  This is how happy I am with our photo coverage, I'm totally obsessed with looking at them, and I'm sure you'll feek the same way once you receive them.

It depends on how many hours included. My photographer provided 12 hours for the day of which is why we have so many photos. It is dependant on each photographer.

We had 6 hours... i finally got my thumb drive from them and it only had 360 on it, and more than 100 of them were of the dance floor.  Needless to say I freaked out.  I'm getting the rest of the raw photos sent to me.. which is 1000, but I hate to say it, I'm not happy at all and we paid A LOT of $ for them.  They didn't even get a clear shot of us coming back down the aisle...and there were TWO photographers.  I just don't understand how they missed so many key moments.  We did a lot of research and they are one of the most recommended where we got married.  I'm completely bummed.

The photos were the most important part of my budget and I have maybe a handful that wowed me.  I won't say who it was until I let them straighten it out.  I'm not sure if he was off his game that day or what, but a wedding album should have hundreds that wow you, not a handful.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the May brides!  I hope all weddings went off without too many problems!  We had our share, which I'll update about when I find time to write my planning thread, but the wedding was mostly great and resulted in a pair of very happy newlyweds, so all ended well! cheesy.gif

I promised myself I wouldn't be one of those brides who disappears from the site after getting married, but it's been a whirlwind since the wedding!  Literally as soon as we made it home, my wife was hospitalized with extreme asthma complications, so the first few days home were spent at the hospital. After that, it took her a month to get well, and then we were overwhelmed with catching up on everything that got shoved to the back burner just before and after the wedding. Things are finally calming down, and we're getting back to a normal routine, so I hope to be around more. I learned so much planning this wedding and hope to pass on the knowledge to future brides.

The full collection of professional pictures is still on its way to us, but quite a few photos were posted in a slideshow on the blog:

Hey ladies! We just got the first half of our photos from our photographers, and I am beyond excited!! We did a photoshoot the day before the wedding around the beach and in the town of Tulum. The wedding day photos should come within a week, and I can hardly wait!! :)

I picked a few of my favourites to post here, but you can see the rest here at http://luckygirl.ca/blog if you'd like.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
