May 2013 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies! So not sure if I posted here yet, but we changed our date and it seems our new date MAY 18TH, 2013 is super popular in this post LOL

Congrats to you all ladies, and can't wait to share our save the dates with you, once my tired hands finish cutting them all [whoever said this was fun was lying LOL]

So what is everyone working on for next year's festivities? Everyone have their STD's sent out, any ideas starting to flourish, when are invites going out?

Post your feedback so we can all keep track of what's going on =)

Hi Jenny...great date (wink, wink)!! My STD's went out last week and we did magnets. Our wedding website is done and we are starting to get messages on our guestbook which is exciting and makes it all that much more real www.edgardandtamara.com My actual invites will be Messages in the Bottle invites with boxes that resemble suitcases. I have my Kleinfelds appt on Saturday that I am soo excited about!! Have you guys purchased your dresses or do you think we are a lil bit too far out? Also if anyone is doing a TTD session are you using your actual ceremony dress? I am hoping to find a sample sale dress at Davids for the TTD session.

There are so many May 2013 brides...I love it!!

Hey cinnagirl,

We're in the same boat and I think we're planning at a good pace.

Dress purchased

Wedding venue booked

Group rates secured/rooms blocked

Photographer booked

Best Man and Woman confirmed (this is the extent of our bridal Party)

My big project right now is completing my wedding website by the end of May. And I have finalized my design for my wedding invites (not doing STDs). I'll be assembleing them in May and mailing sometime in June.

UPDATE…

  • Color scheme/theme determined (I forgot to metntion this before)
  • Invites assembled, and waiting on my custom stamps from zazzle.com.  But wonâ€t mail until end of June/beginning of July.
  • Website – 50% complete, I honestly didnâ€t think it would be so time consuming, but Iâ€m happy with how itâ€s coming together.
  • Maid of Honor dress picked – I wasnâ€t looking but found a dress that we both loved and it fit my color scheme perfectly

I donâ€t have any specific deadlines this month, but still have quite the ‘To Do Listâ€: Custom ring quotes; purchasing décor (ceremony, cocktail hour, recep); purchase/assemble pre-travel packages, and plenty of DIY projects and miscellaneous wedding coordination/purchases.

Hey there!

Yes there are quite a few May 18th brides on BDW, and youâ€re number 8 that I know of.   At this rate Iâ€m tempted to coordinate a meet-up especially since most of us are getting married in the Riviera Maya.  Any-who welcome to the thread, itâ€s been great getting us May Brides together, weâ€ve been great resource to one another thus far.

If you have the opportunity, I would suggest reading a few of the previous pages in this post as many of us have provide updates for May 2012 and tentative activities for June.  Iâ€m sure you will get replyâ€s to your post, but you may get better insight as some brides do not log on as frequently.  I have provided updates above.

Looking forward to getting to know you over the next year. Happy Planning!

Don't fret!!! You have so much time now.

The important decisions have been made.  You just need to let people know about the date so they can start saving/thinking about using vacation time.  Are you going to put the link to your website on your save-the-dates?  You can get some info (destination, date, etc.) to your guests that way before sending out your "official invites".

Engagement photos are fun.  We had some good laughs during ours.  Are you having them done professionally or having a friend take some?

I am.. Our Save the Dates are going to be DIY picture magnets. I have a pic of a sample one I made in my album on here. The wedding website with be across the bottom or the side. :o)

I can't wait til we do ours!!.. I think next weekend when we do a few we are just going to see if his brother will take a few good shots since he loves photography. And then hopefully within a few months we can get with a photog to have professional ones done. I also want to have a wishes book (like a scrapbook) with our engagement pics and questions for family and friends to answer.

Hi Tamara!!! Great date indeed =) And you're getting married at one of my favorite resorts!! It's beautiful there, congrats! I'm working on our STD's but it's taking forever!! Cutting out 125 boarding passes is not as much fun once you've done a few haha Cute idea for the invitations, I haven't even gotten that far yet! You are going to love Kleinfeld's! I went about a month ago, the experience is amazing, but I actually went elsewhere to see some more and bought my dress last week!! I'm so excited and relieved I found the dress and that part is over with. I think it's best to get yout dress far away to your date- less stresfful. It can sometimes take 3 or more months to receive your dress and then if you need to alter, etc, it takes longer. So always best to order it ahead of time so you don't run into any problems last minute. I want to do a TTD but I'm thinking I may buy a cheapy from David's Bridal for it, or even purchase online. For the amount I spent on the dress and it's silk & lace, I wouldn't dare go into the water with it LOL
