Lots of valuable information!! I'm in search for a resort in the Cancun/Riviera Maya for July 2014. Never thought how difficult it would be to pick a resort.

Price point wise we picked the Gran Porto Real. May not be the swankiest AI around Plats but it's close enough to walk to 5th street if people want to get away and there's plenty to do for the kids! Also we qualified for the free wedding thanks to booking so many rooms. Obviously the a la carte things may add up but at least we are customizing it the way we want. Just a suggestion: talk to Wendy Hicks of the Wright Agency! She's here on the boards (that's how I found her) and she's been a lifesaver from the first time I spoke with her!! She will help you figure out the perfect location for your desires and help you narrow it down like she did for us! She even took the time on her last trip down to go over to the resort specifically to take photos of the ceremony location so I could see a "real life" view instead of marketing photos! She's amazing!! Hope that helps!
