attire for the boys

Recommended Posts

So, my FI has chosen to only have one man - his best friend - stand up with him.

Should I get them to wear matching clothing?

FI wants to wear linen khaki-coloured pants and a white linen shirt, which I am please with. His GM will be wearing something similar, but now I am wondering if I should make it different somehow. A blue shirt instead, maybe, or short sleeves? (Blue is one of our colours).

Of course, when I ask them, they say they do not care.

I want to take advantage of the sales this summer, so I would like to have my mind made up in the next couple months.

What do you think, ladies? Should the two guys match or be slightly different? Or completely different? What do you think?

Well my FI is wearing a white shirt and his men (3) are wearing a pale pink shirt color. All will have the same khakis. I didnt want them to match because when I look at pictures on here I did not like the look of it and also I wanted him and I to stick out so theres no question of who the groom is lol! But its really your call and what you prefer. I like the idea of your fi in white and his friend in blue, plus its your color! What are your girls wearing? Maybe have him match them?

It was just my husband and his best friend who was his best man.  I too was torn if they should wear the same things, but in the end it was easier for them both to just wear the linen pants and white shirts rather then try to find a blue shirt that would match with my MOH blue dress and all the other blue decorations ect.  I had my husband wear a slightly different bout on his shirt then his best man so you could tell them apart.

Thanks. If there were more than one GM, there would be no question in my mind, but for just the two of them... I guess a bout could make it look different though; I had forgotten about that! I am also thinking of putting one in short sleeves, the other in long (though who am I kidding, he's just going to roll them up anyway).

The bridesmaids (2 of them... I know, I know, uneven numbers!) will be in coral (our colours are coral and blue).

I think it is a matter of personal preference...I heard or read somewhere that bridal parties should be similiar, so that the bride and groom stick out (He/she compared it to a frame...the bridal party is the frame; The bride and groom are the picture.). Since your future husband is having only a best man, I believe you two will stand out regardless.

As for me, my bridesmaids were told to find a navy blue dress that suits their own personality. I have given the groomsmen a little more guidance, but I still want their outfits to reflect them. As far as I'm concerned, we chose them to be in our wedding because we love them..I have no interest in sticking them in a cookie-cutter outfit.

Anyway, I think the idea of varying the sleeve length or color is a great idea. I believe another source mentioned that you don't want one member of the wedding party in a bright color, however, as he or she will become the focal point of a lot pictures. Of course, you can't follow everything you read.

Yeah, I suggested this one too... and was promptly vetoed by FI. No ties! (or jackets - for those they have opinions.)

My fiance is having the same thing, just his brother up there with him.  Not exactly sure what we're going to do yet, but i always like the groom to be in something a little different so you can tell which one the groom is!!
