That is what I like about the Power90. It starts out slow so it's not so overwhelming. Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely have to try it out next!

I have a pair of jeans that were just a bit too tight to wear before, but I am wearing them today! For me, I wasn't doing really any kind of exercise before, other than taking the dog for walks, so this video seems to help ease me into things and it isn't too hard that I want to just give up right away. I am looking forward to moving on to the next two levels to change things up a bit, and eventually adding in some other videos for a variety. I say give it a shot, it certainly can't hurt anything :)  You may end up moving right to the second or third levels if you have already been using the Power90, but it is a good workout for just under a half hour.

+1... I support clean eating 110%. But to sustain results, you have to look at this a lifestyle not a diet. The benefits go beyond your waste line. Additionally, I would incorporate weight training into your diet. This has a much higher impact on metabolism than just cardio alone. And don't worry you won't bulk up and look like a man. Just remember high reps and low weight. Best of luck!

I know this is seriously the most boring advice but ChocoTaco is right, it has to be a lifestyle change, not a diet. These don't have to be huge changes though, or at least you don't have to jump right into huge changes. Don't think you can't ever eat any more cheeseburgers and that you have to run 10 miles a day. A lot of times it's the little things that help the most.

For example, a few years ago I made a conscious decision to eat my veggies before my meat and grains, so that I fill up on the lighter stuff first and get full before I finish the heavy things instead of the other way around. I also run 1.5 miles a day now, which is hardly anything at all but it's very manageable and once I get that out of the way, most of the time I do a strength training/toning work out too because I feel so pumped up!

The point is, deciding to go on WW or the Atkis diet are usually not lifestyle changes. No one thinks they're going to Weight Watchers for the rest of their lives, because that would be awful and no one could stand that. You have a much higher chance at succeeding if you find what works best for you, as long as you make sure to actually push yourself!

Good luck on your journey!

I am doing crossfit. Its a high intensity, varied workout . . that burns ALOT of calories. If you find the right gym, it wont matter your fitness level to begin.  Typically they will scale everything to your ability so you dont hurt yourself. It is not only an amaizng workout, it really is an outlet for me for all my crazed wedding planning!!!  I highly encourage it. You will see changes in your body in about four weeks or so. The workouts are tough physically and mentally, but it is an amazing feeling to overcome it!!! Crossfitters adopt the paleo way of eating (google it). I havent quite gotten that far yet, but I have definitely changed my weekday eating habits to lean proteins, fruits, veggies . . .but cant give up the VINO, LOL!!!

3 and a half months to go!  Good luck ladies!!!

This is a great thread! Thanks ladies!

Here is what i recently posted on another thread last week:

My wedding is 4 weeks away. I'm still trying to tone up to where I want to be. I generally eat pretty well-meat, veggies, fruit. I cut out sugars and did low carb for june. I play Roller Derby so that was my primary exercise, but a gf of mine also sent me this:

maj.jpg

I'll be completely honest, i did it but I have no idea how. hahaha I'll tell you what though, my fiance travels a lot and he hadn't seen me for 2 weeks when he noticed that my muffin top was gone!! My clothes fit better, its crazy. I remember on June 1st, I was looking at the workout for June 30th going, "HOW AM I GOING TO DO THAT!?!?!", but i did. and now I plan on doing the June 30th workout everyday of July (we leave for our trip on Aug 1st)

I am also running 3mi on days when i don't have practice. It sucks and I pretty much have to make myself a new playlist everyday to motivate myself. My fiance is a bigger dude and he's not really into working out but he's actually been doing sit up and pushup like me (sups and pups, he calls it). I guess that's his way of being supportive.

I'm about 5'6 and weight 131 on a good day lol. I'm not necessarily trying to lose weight, but I could shed some weight off my buns at this point haha, that's why i've really picked up my running regimen. Sometimes I add in lunges or jumpsquats or wall sits or other butt exercise that I can do on my living room floor. Clearly, I get bored very easily with working out so i need to try new things all the time.

My diet has been all over the place. I generally eat fruit for breakfast, a sald for lunch, then I end up pigging out at dinner. I've really got to get that in check for July. My plan for carbs, is to have them in the am, if i'm going to have any. Cut them out after 3pm.

Wish me luck!

I'm glad this thread is here! I like this stuff!

I get bored very easily and I also hate the gym, so I either have to do things outdoors or do workout videos. I try to mix it up and have been rotating through a bunch of different DVDs: Jillian's 30 Day Shred, Jillian's 6-Week Abs, Jillian's Power Yoga, Tae-bo (an oldie but a goodie!), Power 90, and a Crunch Pilates video. On weekends when I have more time and I need to get outside, I go for a nice long hike or hit up this scenic outlook near my house that has about 300 steps to the top and where other crazy people walk/run up and down them for exercise.
