AHR

Our AHR will be a few weeks after we get back from our trip. Weâ€re doing a cocktail party on a Friday night at a local banquet hall – open bar, appetizers, some stations, dancing… casual and open seating.

I got a fingerprint tree as our guestbook from Etsy seller YourKeepsakeCo

I made our centerpieces (hobby lobby, efavormart.com) and convinced the venue to let us bring our own table runners (BBcrafts.com), since they didnâ€t have a color I liked. The finished ones will have sand in the bottoms of them.

Weâ€re doing a candy buffet at the AHR, and itâ€s been fun putting it together. I got a lot of the jars for our candy buffet at a flea market during a trip to Asheville, NC last Thanksgiving, averaging $2/jar. I also bought a few from Michaels, Goodwill and Salvation Army, and a couple were gifts from friends/family. I made the labels in PowerPoint. Some of the labels will hang on the jars and others will be tent cards.

I made a little sign for the basket for the cellophane treat bags (from Michaels).

I got most of the candy from www.acandystore.com and www.candyfavorites.com. Gummy sharks, lollipops, rock candy sticks and strings, sour hard candy, gumballs, kisses, yogurt covered pretzels, laffy taffy, airheads, mints, gummy bears, Oreos, marshmallows…

I got my thank you cards from Vistaprint, and I have used them for everything from my shower through AHR.

So thatâ€s everything! Itâ€s been a long 16 months of planning and waiting. We leave in 11 days, and it cannot come soon enough! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you! I'm feeling really good that we're ready to go. Now just a little bit of packing and last minute clothes shopping left!

Thanks! I think he's going to love them, especially since it's so unlike me to be all girly and dressed up. I'm usually wearing jeans and working on a car with him cheesy.gif

Our candy buffet will be at our AHR! I have no idea how you would transport all this stuff down south!! We have like 80 lbs of candy and 20 glass jars, it would never work! Could you venue provide the candy and you bring plastic containers? Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby had a lot of different clear plastic containers that were nice quality.
