Hi All,

 

I have a question regarding the DJ. For any past brides, how did you find the music? Do they play new stuff or listen to your requests? Or do I need to bring my ipod so they have the new music to be able to play?

You need to let her know 2 wks ahead of time, you can pay for the option to have them select entrees on the spot but I don't know how much that is. Most people are used to selecting entree options in advance for a wedding so I didn't even bother to get more information about the option to select during the dinner.

Pilar put me in touch with the DJ a few weeks before the wedding. He sent me a form to fill out with the songs I wanted played. They played everything I requested and a few more. My nephew wanted a certain song played that he didn't have so my sister gave them her ipod to use but I also think that he downloaded it right there.

Unless you want to pay an additional fee per person it is best to let her know ahead of time. I think it is something ridiculous like $25/person to let them pick the day of the wedding.

I am also sending DJ my list. How many songs did you send him?

 

We also made it part of our wedding website RSVP to select an entree. Most people are pretty used to it from other weddings I think..

Hi ladies! Just wondering if you are finding the prices for now jade are continuing to get higher? When we got engaged in Nov 2011, I began looking at DW resorts in the Mayan and March 2012 was going for 1400-1600pp. Now that we are looking for end of March 2013 we are seeing prices at $1850+ per person and I'm absolutely heartbroken that this resort is out of our budget for our guests. Even our group rates are coming in at 1900+. Unfortunately changing dates isn't an option as we already sent out our STDs thinking this resort would be in our budget. Any advice on whether someone has gotten a really great price or can tell me other resorts around $1600 per person? Thanks so much, we are really in a pinch!

our travel agent said that the deals should come out toward end of november/december for march...right now the prices are still high but he said it should go down a great deal...i was also freaking out when I saw the prices...

I know! We even put a deposit down for our package with the now jade but have been wavering ever since we saw the prices stay consistently at that price. I think the problem for us is that the travel agent we started working with was pretty inexperienced and hasn't been able to tell us whether the prices should go up or down between now and March. They just kept telling us to switch resorts so I guess we started to believe we had to Thanks Vika!

the travel agent we went with has a lot of experience with destination weddings and travel in general...im trusting him at this point and realllly hoping hes right because if prices stay this high..no one will go :/

i can keep you updated on what he tells us regarding prices.
