From what the price list says it can get quite expensive for flowers and table centrepieces. Do any of you know if the resort provides minimal decor...like candles? Do they use linen napkins? And how much the laterns cost that hang from the ceiling? I'm so excited and nervous!! I want everything to look good! Thanks for your advice:)

I brought the paper lanterns with me and I was quoted $40 for them to hang them but I wasn't charged for it. It would be best to bring your own decor but they will add some stuff if they feel it needs something. Hope this helps!

Can anyone help me understand the menu options? I read that someone posted you only get two options to give your guests. That seems rather harsh, given that everyone is paying for a whole resort full of food options. I feel like I'm punishing them for coming to our reception! I know we have at least one vegetarian coming, so would a veggie option have to be one of our 2 total choices? Or do those count as alternates you can get in addition to the two main choices?

I gave my guests 3 options...I never thought to ask Pilar how many they get. There is a vegetarian menu so you can probably pick one or two from there and they 2 or 3 from the regular menu. Pilar never said anything when I turned in our guest count and what each guest was eating. Plus I had 3 children and they had something different from everyone else.

Hi Girls I have another pricing question. Just got an email back from Deisy and she indicated that to have an open bar it is $15 pp for the cocktail hour and $53 pp for the reception. I have the divine wedding package and I guess u thought the alcohol was included because it is an all inclusive resort. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

I think she means for guests above the 25 included in the package.

Lauren,

I think Desiy was referring to each person beyond the 25 guests included in the package, which would be about right from what I was told.  For the open bar, there is a $250 fee for a private bar at your reception.  The $250 is for the convenience of having the bar at your reception, not for the alcohol itself - that is completely free.  If you choose not to have the private bar at your reception, waiters will be bringing drinks from the closest bars to your guests.  I haven't decided on what I'm going to do yet; I kind of like the idea of my guests being able to get their own drinks whenever they want and I worry what they be waiting for refills.  That being said, I have read that many past brides did not have a problem with guests getting refills; in fact, they said the guests had new drinks before they were done with the ones they had.  So, it's really depending on how you want your setup to be, where it's at, the size of your reception area, and your budget.

I will say that it would be nice to have the bar right there BUT I will agree that getting a drink was never an issue at my wedding. They kept the drinks coming all night and no one ever even had to ask for a drink. I personally think that you should save the money and not have a private bar but that is just me! Trust me, no one will be without a drink whether the bar is right there or not! :)
