ok - so if you are posting from the resort i presume the Wi-Fi is reasonable?  Do you have to pay extra?  I was just curious about how communication would be down there because we are all used to texting each other so much about where to meet and what to do and may not want to since it's international.  Any feedback or experience you could share (when you get back of course!) would be much appreciated

I have an excel worksheet that Pilar gave me for the cost breakdown for extra people.

We are having 75 people and having a hard time deciding what to do for dinner. It's seems crazy to pay an additional $3000 for the rest of the guests over 25 to eat at an all inclusive resort.

We are thinking about putting the money we would spend on dinner towards an all inclusive party boat instead where people would much rather have the $70/person spent.

What are other people's thoughts?

I can email the spreadsheet to anyone else that would like to see it.

We are getting married November 6th and having the same problem with a large group and the crazy extra charges. I was not told that we had to do buffet, you can choose a menu like anyone else.

I would like this spreadsheet!  RachelSalyer1@@gmail.com :)

hello brides!

we have 72 guests booked - the resort just notified me today that they think the bamboo room may be too small for that many people. this concerns me, especially because they always knew how many people we were going to be having, and failed to mention this to us until now. so thats another piece of the story anyways.

have any of had that many people in the bamboo room and it was fine? does anyone have pictures of the bamboo room so i can get a better idea?

thanks!

We had 73 guests including us, we had no problem fitting in the bamboo room. Had 7 tables of about 9-11 each, 3 tables on one side and 4 on the other, with the dj and bar in different corners.. and still had plenty of space to dance! I think 8 tables might be getting a little tight but still manageable, not sure why they are telling you otherwise now! Good luck!

There is wifi in the rooms on the preferred side, but it is very spotty.. also great wifi in the preferred lounge and in the main lobby. As far as texting, you'd probably get international charges unless you are on wifi on the iphones.. check out Viber app.. its an international texting app with no additional charges :)

Thank you sooooooo much this makes me feel so much better!!! Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!

Sorry one more question! Did you have 10 sitting at each table? Thanks!!

We had between 9 and 11 at each table but 11 would have been 2 kids at least. Nobody felt cramped at all though!

Congratluations !! Can't wait to hear all about it and relieved to hear you didnt have the same issue... did you request a bar in the bamboo room or do they automattically put one there

We did not request a bar and I was under the impression that we would not have one as the wedding prices say there is a charge for it. But it was there. And very well used! Lol and my husband and I had our own server who was just for us! It was great!

The wifi is a little spotty, you often have to reconnect, but it was free and we could use WhatsApp or iMessage between the group. Now Jade also just joined the app that they have so you can make phone calls and stuff for free. We didn't get to utilize it as I think it launched on October 27 or so and most people were already gone. But I would tell everyone to download the app and then you call all use it.

What kind of beer is at the resort?

They have Modela, Corona, Corona Light, Bud, and Bud lite

What have past brides gotten for their free room upgrades? From what to what? Anyone not get an upgrade?

Long story short, our TA is a complete joke. She never booked the room that we had requested and she had confirmed, and then the hotel was booked solid and they also did not upgrade us. I was choked at first but got over it pretty quickly. Our room was beautiful. It was a preferred ocean view. In building 8. Room 8309, it has one of the best views there.

When working with a TA and a group contract it is very important that you understand the amenities you are being offered, and how they work. With AM Resorts, owners of all the Nows, Dreams, Secrets and Zoetry properties, their group promotion is called the 3G Group promotion.

It includes amenities such as:

The Sixth Room in your group as complimentary for up to a maximum of 3 complimentary rooms.

(These complimentary rooms are calculated based on your total number of rooms booked for each night the group is on site, and are given to you at time of final accounting as a $$ refund back to bride and groom credit card used for initial deposit on the group- you will not know exactly how much you have earned back as a credit until the group is fully booked and paid and then the calculations are done).

1 Complimentary VIP Room upgrade per 10 paid rooms. Complimentary room upgrades are based upon availability and are given to the next room category above the majority of rooms booked in the group. Maximum of 2 upgrades per group.

What this means, and what I normally suggest to couples, is that this upgrade included in your group contract is based on availability and not guaranteed... So if there is a room type that you as the bride and groom have your hearts set on, it is really best to have us book it that way right from the start, and then give any upgrades earned to other VIPs of the wedding group.. ie Mom and Dad or MOH or such. Since it is not a guarantee, it is best not to be disappointed yourself if the hotel is full and the upgrade cannot be granted. Otherwise your upgrade is based on the hotel having the available space when you check in.. and this is not always a given!

As long as you know what to expect, and are aware of how to book so you get the room category you are wishing for, then no one will be disappointed, and all will have a great experience here!

With that said, our brides have been very happy with the rooms, service and amenities they have received at Now Jade.. it is a great choice, very reasonably priced, a convenient location and done in the prettiest jewel tone colors. Wright Travel does a great deal of business with AM Resorts, and our wedding couples are treated very well here! It is a great answer!
