How did you use your "free rooms"? I'm talking about the promotion where you get a free room for every 5 or 6 rooms booked. Did you keep them for yourself or divide the savings amongst all guest? We are thinking of using the free rooms for ourselves. That way we only pay for our honeymoon at a different resort. Are we allowed to be selfish this one time?!?!
I ended up booking enough rooms to get 2 "free rooms" worth of credit to be used towards either my wedding package, my own room, or to distribute however I wish (either split it equally, or give all or some of it to one person, etc) Me and my FI put it towards our stay. I don't think that's selfish at all! We got enough of a cost wi the Devine package and add ons. I was a big help towards out final bill. Heather

We are looking at the lighting for the Bamboo room and are trying to figure it out.  I know that there are the lights above the dance floor.  But, our concern is if we are going to pay extra for the uplighting.  It looks beautiful but it is $350!  That is crazy for a few light bulbs!  I have seen in a few pictures that they have small lights (like christmas lights) over the bamboo on the side walls.  Anyone know if they are included or if that is something that I can bring?  Any input on the lighting in there?  Thanks!

We brought our own mini lights for the bamboo wall. I picked a few packaged up (from the floral dept at my grocery store of all places!) and just told Pilar to use them however they thought looked best. I attached a couple pictures to show you:

1st picture shows bamboo lighting - these were just the battery operated strands (didn't realize till I got there that I had 2 "cool blue" and 3 "bright white" lights but I was so happy I didn't mind)

The bamboo wall already has some natural lighting in it (see 2nd picture for this).

The 3rd picture shows the room with the lighting (standard from Now Jade) with our little lights on the bamboo.  No uplighting or extra costs. Oh and those are battery operated candles in our luminairies for table decor, they were more for ambiance and decoration than actual lighting but the effect was very pretty and romantic.

Thanks for sharing! I was wondering how lights could be added without paying $350.

I have a question regarding the gifts for bridal party. When is the right time to give them out? We won't have a rehearsal dinner but we will do a welcome dinner. Should I give the bridal party their gifts then or is that rude to do Infront of everyone else?? Then I was thinking since I will do OOT bags for everyone, just add their gifts into the welcome bag?

We are going to have a small get together before we leave for the wedding to give out the bridal party wedding gifts.  You are only allowed $300 worth of gifts in anyway...plus, it is one less thing to worry about.  I don't want to have to worry about getting them there in our luggage, or give our bridal party one more thing to pack in their luggage.

Are you having your welcome dinner on resort?  I want to do this, but wondered how much extra I'd have to pay for a dinner with 50-60 people...

If you have your welcome dinner at the buffet, it is free.  To do it in a restaurant, I think it is $20 per person, plus 11% and 15% service fee.  We opted for a welcome cocktail party in the lobby bar.  Most of our guests are staying 4 nights and with 1 of those nights being at the wedding, I don't want to limit the amount of restaurants they can eat at.  Besides, I believe if you have a dinner of some sorts, it needs to be a fixed menu, especially with 50-60 people.

What does the welcome cocktail party involve?  Is there a price per head? I was thinking I wanted to do something fun like have a s'mores party, but not sure about that yet.

I am not having any luck getting email replies from Pilar or any other coordinator!

Any one have any luck getting a hold of them or what to say?

I have literally 100000 questions about the private terrace, bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, make up, hair trial, hair appt day of, negotiating things in the package, etc.

It stinks not getting anything answered or addressed in a timely manner!
