Thanks, I am just glad there isn't inconsistencies with the sound system and charging for it for ceremony. I think we will do the same @khunt29 and use iPod for first hour of reception to save $$$. The chair thing is crazy, they say $10, if its going to actually cost 13 dollars or whatever per chair, then say that. I might bring that up in our meeting.

That's a good idea (not wearing the veil) maybe I will do that if we end up doing the first look. My fiancé is kind of against it too, I think we are both sort of on the fence.

Awe! Love it! What an awesome time to give him your boudoir album!!

Have you taken your pics? If so, how was it? I have an appointment on April 13th and I am starting to get really nervous!

Have you taken your pics? If so, how was it? I have an appointment on April 13th and I am starting to get really nervous!

I had my Boudoir session this past Monday and I canâ€t believe I almost deemed it not necessary.  This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself and the icing on the cake is that my Fi is going to flip, Iâ€m totally going to knock his socks off!  My self-esteem is at an all-time peak, Iâ€m totally obsessed  and in awe with myself.  You wonâ€t regret it.  The best part of the entire day was seeing the slideshow at the end.  I think my commentary was something like “Oh my God thatâ€s me… My body is awesome and I look so good… I never knew I had that in me…

Words of advice:

  1. Trust you photographer when it comes to cues and direction.  Short of choosing my outfits, I let my photog do the rest. Most of my poses felt very un-natural, some even uncomfortable and I quickly realized that I didnâ€t know my right from my left, but it all translated beautifully.  At the end of the day I was amazed with how my photos turned out.  Some of the most  uncomfortable poses made for the best photos.  Looking through my pics after the session, I saw myself in way that I never thought I would and found myself using adjectives to describe myself that I never felt applied
  2. Have fun and enjoy the experience; donâ€t over think it.  If your photog is anything like mine, youâ€ll forget that youâ€re half nude and in lingerie within the first 5 min - body conscience went out the window.  I was too busy trying to follow direction and having miscellaneous conversation to be concerned/focused on anything else.

Thanks Tova!! Excellent words of advice! This made me feel a lot better about it! I feel like I don't know how to "look sexy" but I guess it'll all fall into place! :-)

Have any Now Jade brides hired an outside videographer instead of using the in house one? I hope this isn't too personal, but about how much were they? I'm trying to put our budget in order, and we would like to include in it a creative and high quality video. Unfortunately though, the vendors I've asked have all said they need dates and a video budget from us before providing a quote, but that's why I'm trying to get the quote from them first so I know our budget lol. Any help would be appreciated :)

Hi aarosenthall, Do you mind sharing what you are doing for the private rehearsal dinner?  I am trying to decide to do the buffet, private dinner or have our group go into town.  Thanks so much!  Tara
Sure! She quoted us $900 to I think privately rent out the tamarindo room, we got to pick a 3 course meal, champagne and a sound system for 2 hours. This is for 36 people.

I just got my pics back from my boudoir - it was AMAZING.  She made me feel so comfortable, and like Choco said - though you feel awkward, they do  translate amazing on film.  I highly recommend it - and I am quite sure my FI is going to LOVE them.

Pilar finally got back to me, a month later! And then barely answered half my questions so I need to email her again with follow up questions, I am going crazy. Also, wanted to compare notes. First the upgraded chairs, she is saying 11% tax per each plus if we don't want to pay double (ridiculous) we will have to pay a 40$ tip/set-up fee. Did anyone else hear this?? Also the dj, I want to swap out live music for a dj, this should be an even trade if I use the dj for 2 hours correct? And lastly the speakers set up, I asked her about speakers for ceremony and she said "the divine package includes speakers for reception" and that's it! So my question wasn't even answered...did anyone end up having to pay for the speakers for the ceremony as well? I am just in a bad mood this morning after waiting so long to hear back, not have my questions answered and then be nickel and dimed way more than I expected.
In terms of the chairs, this is what I was quoted and had on my final bill😒 I think we are going to forgo them since the total was $440 for them.

FIND ATTACHED HTE VEGETARIAN  OPTIONS  YUO CAN SELECT THEIR MENU

Does that mean the entire menu or just the entree?

Hahaha, I laugh because we all get these totally vague responses that don't answer your original question.

I'm sorry I can't help you, but will be interested to find out what you learn!
