Outside photographer.....I went with Photos in Cancun. Derek and Lorena were hands down the best decision I made. "Worth every penny" says my cheap a$$ husband :) Not only did we walk away with 2200 pictures but they also helped us through every part of the day. They helped us know how to cute the cake, make a time line for day, communicate with my hair dresser....they list goes on and on.

I used the resort photographer the night before for family pictures and they do a nice job as well. Sort of hard to communicate with and i didn't get a whole lot of say in my editing choices.

If I had to do it all over again and could only spluge in one area it would be the photography.

Miranda can't wait to read your review! Congrats!

Pilar (the WC) is no doubt very busy right now, April - June is peak season for them.  I found the easiest way to get ahold of her when I booked my date was to call her directly.  From there she was able to look up my email (while I was on the phone) and reply to it with the appropriate paperwork for me to fill out right then and there.

I know the Now Jade website also has a wedding date request form but it is different from what Pilar sends you directly (more specific details, fine print etc).

My advice is once you have a date (or two) in mind call the resort and speak to Pilar so she can confirm availability and send the paperwork to you....

I do, and you can PM me your email address.  However, I would advise making contact with Pilar first in order to confirm that your date and preferred locations are available. I'm sorry that you have not received a response to your inquiries.  It is the peak wedding season in the Riviera Maya, and I know that Pilar is flying solo and has double the work load these days.

I am getting married in 2 weeks and have been e-mailing Pilar for several weeks now without a response! I am hoping everything is ok!

Hi,

Do you plan on having a cocktail mixer / reception for your guests the day before your wedding? I'd like to do something like this for my guests the evening before, so that everyone can mingle and get to know each other.

I was thinking of hosting it at the Hotels main lobby bar...would you happen to know if there's an extra fee for that? I imagine other brides might have done this before and perhaps have tips/suggestions on other venues at the hotel where I can host this (in addition to the hotel lobby bar?)

Thanks!

Caroline

Hi Caroline,

I'm having my wedding there in June, and I am having like a welcome cocktail session at the lobby bar, there are couches on both sides of the bar and Pilar said they would block off an area for my guests(NO CHARGE):).

After that we are going to have dinner at the Carnival Buffet and she would do the same, reserve an area with no additional fee:)

Thanks for sharing your experience -- we were thinking of doing the same, glad to know it can be done :)
