Tipping is not required, but it is extremely appreciated (even a few dollars goes a long way for them) and most people do it.  The taxes and gratuities are included with the room rates, yes, and the tipping IS optional, but, honestly, you don't have to tip the staff very much, a few dollars each time won't add up to a whole lot of money.  Taxes for the add-ons to your wedding package, however, are not included and will only be indicated on your final invoice.  It's best to see what the taxes are (11%, etc.) ahead of time so there are no surprises.  The total amount for the Divine package, with tax, is $2999, but that includes no additional guests, services, decorations, etc.  Please keep that in mind so you don't end up over your budget. 

 

As far as tipping the wedding coordinators, DJ, etc., which is also not required, it is very appreciated as well.  We will be tipping some them much more generously.

Does this just cover photography for the actual wedding ceremony? I was confused about that as well. Anyone have prior experience with using both an outside photographer and the resort photographer since it comes with the package??

 

Does anyone know what NOW Jade charges to bring an outside photographer? Is that the same as the wedding day pass ($55 I think)??

 

Also, has anyone had an experience with Adventure Photos (the resort photogs)?? I can't find any links to weddings they've done, and if I can't find anyone within my budget, I may just end up using them!!

I never felt that they were looking for tips, but it is nice and you might get better service if you tip. 

 

We thought the food was good. It wasn't anything spectacular but it was good. The food we had at the wedding was actually the best food that we had the whole time we were there.  You have to take the reviews with a grain of salt. Most people are quick to write a review if they are going to complain.

This is an excellent question!! TBH I think 8 bridesmaids would be a stretch at the pergula. We had a hard time getting 5 on each side of us! The issue is the left side there is a wall and you really can't extend beyond that. And the other problem is if we had to push them under the pergula, there would be shadows on them and the pictures wouldn't turn out. i like the suggestion from khunt about maybe only having your MOH and BM standing up while the other sit in the first row. There will be plenty of pictures of you and your wedding party on the beach afterwards!!!! We've loved the pergula location! It just felt more classy/intimate than the beach. I hope the pictures below help!

For those who used round tables, I know it says it seats 6-10 people but I am so confused how many to put at each table? Would 10 be too crowded? What did you do?

We are hoping to only seat 8 per table, maybe 6, depending on how many guests we have.  We are not doing 10 because we feel it would be crowded.

I emailed Pilar about that, and she provided me with a 54" diameter of the tables.  I googled and found that standard banquet seating guidelines are 4-6 people at a 48" round and 8-10 people at a 60" round.  I will probably go with the former and keep the guest# small at each table, because I've been to weddings where it's elbw to elbow, and that's not comfortable at all!  I'd stick with 6-8/table, which is right in the middle.   

 

Do you happen to have the dimensions of a head table? She responded with "8.36 cm length* 4.60cm width". That can't be right!?

Thanks! I was thinking the same but the less people at each table means more tables, which means more centerpieces! haha! Oh well!

Thanks Kristen! I'm agreeing with 6-8 people. I'm going to have more tables than expected! Oh well I was wanting to squeeze 9 at some but I don't want any one to be uncomfortable. I am not sure about the head table, we decided to do a sweet heart table and let our wedding party sit with everyone else.. It's only 3 people anyways!

We are using the rectangular tables and putting them together to make 2 long tables (14 people at each) and then 1 long table for the wedding party...It will sort of be a U-shoe shape I'm thinking (but with space between tables for movement.)  We had an exact split of 14 family members and 14 friends coming (plus 8 at the head table) so that worked out best.  Plus it avoided any uneven tables for family since his side has way more members in attendance.
