Hi Ladies!

Well we just got back from our visit a couple of days ago.  We stayed at a different resort for the trip but drove to Jade to meet Pilar and check it out.

First and foremost - Pilar and Daisy are INCREDIBLE.  She took over two hours to meet with us and show us around - and we have already booked and placed our deposit.  We were very interested in the reception locations and had scheduled Mix bar, pergola and the terrace.  We have about 50 people coming and wanted to see the layout.  After checking everything out we moved our reception to CinCin - and I am so excited.  The terrace could accomodate us, but the area that would be used for dancing is very small, and not central.  Pilar made a good point in saying that you dont have the ocean view at night - something I hadn't thought of.   The other options for locations are much more accomadating, and I believe, much nicer now that I have seen them.  Regardless, it will be beautiful.  Darius (the bartender at Mix) is fantastic.  We told him we hadnt yet decided on a signature drink - he asked our colours and starting making us samplers.  The reviews about him are spot on.  I also met with adventure - as we are using them for our photography.  They completely cover the getting ready, ceremony and most of the reception for an additional $700 on top of the divine package.  Their photos were lovely, and you get the disc with them all - free of copywrite.  They suggested that we make of list of certain shots we would like and they will make sure they do this for us. Not once were we told "no" we couldnt do something - they were very accomodating with all my requests (including bringing gluten free cake mix for our cake).  We arranged some extra events (golfing and a trip to playa) through the concierge.  They were very accomodating as well.  After our trip around the resort we were invited to spend the day - which we did.  The service around the resort was fantastic, the rooms beautiful, and the staff so friendly.  The resort has something for everyone - adults pool, kids pool, and the beach.  The beach is rocky - but there are swim friendly areas for those who love the surf.  The rooms are all stunning - even the basic room selection.

After our meeting, FI sat me down and said we had to talk.  I was a little stressed as to what the problem was.  He pulled out some beautiful crystal earrings with aquamarine that he purchased at the jewelry store at the resort.  They are to wear with my dress and they are stunning.  He wanted me to have something special, and blue, for our day and he thought it would be very special if they came from Jade.  He is a winner!!

I feel very lucky I was able to make this trip - but for the many brides who are not - DO NOT STRESS.  These women are professionals, and very, very good at what they do.  They are on top of all the details, so you dont have to be.  Let her know your vision and she will make it come true.  Just know that when you arrive everything will be handled, and fantastic.  I met a few brides there, and watched a wedding, and all was well - actually, better than well.  Both FI and I hugged Pilar and Daisy when we left - and couldnt thank them enough.  3 months and 12 days to go.  We can't wait!!

If I can answer any questions - just let me know.  All the info is still fresh.

Can any previous brides tell me how the taxes work on the wedding package?

For example the Devine package is $2999.  If you look at the a la carte services, most of them say plus 11% tax and 15% for service.

I am working on my budget and trying to determine where tax will be charged.

To the $2999

I assume 11% plus 15% for any extra person charge

And 11% for any other extras (flowers, DJ, etc.)

Thanks.

2 months from yesterday for me!!!!

Hi Grisell,

Are you able to rent the curtains from you? If so how much?

Question-- How many bridesmaids is too many bridesmaids?? My girls are super important to me, and I think I have more than the average number of bridesmaids. I wouldn't be concerned but we are going with the Pergola, and I was wondering if anyone knows how many will fit on my side without looking insane? I will probably end up with 8. cheers.gif

Thanks ladies!

Una mas pregunta msnwink.gif

Does anyone know whether you can get alcoholic room service at NOW Jade?

My parents recently went to Dreams Riviera for a wedding, and said they were literally rolling out of bed and ordering champagne to the room. Is this a farce or a dream come true?!

One of my visions for the big day is to have all my bridesmaids getting ready together with a mimosa bar handy or at least some cocktails? Is there room service for this or would this be a separate charge through Pilar?

Ok, these are my last questions for sure...

1) Is Del Sol photography the resort photographer?? I noticed most pictures posted here on this BDW thread are Del Sol, and they are amazing! If not, does anyone have price quotes?

2) Any info on firedancers from anyone who has had them? Price? How long they perform?

3)What is the purpose of adding "the dance floor" to the package?? Does this mean sectioning off an area for dancing or is this mainly for outdoor receptions where there is no "floor"?? Super confused on this one!

Thanks!

Sorry in advance for the five billion questions.
