@@kylie537 I'm having my reception at Castaways, and while we'll be having closer to 50 people, I feel that the way the space is broken up, it won't seem big.  I've been there in person (not sure if you have or not), so I think pictures might make it look bigger than it actually is.  I think you'll be fine!

so i just learned that to extend the reception for an extra hour (from 3 hours to 4 hours) you have to pay $15 per person plus tax and service.  Yikes!  We are planning for ceremony at 5, cocktail hour at 6 and reception from 7-10pm.  I was thinking of extending to 11pm, because 10pm just seems too early, but I'm not so sure if the extra hour is worth the extra cost.  What have other done or are planning?

Hello,

Has anyone been charged a $350 set up fee to have your own bar during the reception?  I received my contract today and there was this fee - I have never heard of this before, nor was it on any of my paperwork.

For those that have already had their reception, particularly in the Bamboo Room - did you have your own bar for the reception?  Or did you just have waiters running drinks to your guests from an outside bar?  If so, were there any complaints that people could not get drinks timely?

Thanks in advance!!

I am also interested in knowing what the answer is?

Instead of extending the reception we just had a longer cocktail hour then all went to the disco after.

As for the second bar, we just had the waiters bring us drinks. We had plenty to drink. They had our signature drink and a glass of champagne out at every spot when we got there for no extra charge.

Hello again - one more question.

On my contract - the resort is charging to physically move our chairs from the ceremony (pergola) to the reception (Bamboo) room ($40+tax).  They are also charging fees for tying on our chair bows ($40+tax) and for "decorating" our tables at the reception ($40+tax).

To any recent Now Jade brides - were you charged for all/any of this?

Do any brides have the most current pricing for the spa?  Trying to figure out the cost of an up-do for my bridesmaids.  I saw a post on this thread for 2013 that said it was $59 for long hair, but since their prices are ever-increasing I'm assuming it's gone up by then.
