A7Xtrish
They look beautiful, but I couldn't justify the price.... $10/chair.... yikes! I know!!! Lucky for us, we're having a small wedding (less than 25 people) so the cost isn't too horrific lol. I think I'm the only bride on BDW with a small guest count. But they have gold tiffany chairs, and our wedding colors are teal/mint/coral/gold. And it looks so much more elegant on the pergola than the white chairs that come with the package.. but we'll see! (: Instrumentalist questions: Did anyone use one for their ceremony or the cocktail hour? I'm not sure which one to choose (pro's/con's?) I'm thinking guitarist for the ceremony, but I'm not sure. Which instrument did you find better? Can they play specific songs, or do they have a set list to choose from? How does that work? Thanks! I'm wondering the same thing, we were thinking about using the saxophonist for the cocktail hour for guests while we do bride + groom pics, and having a playlist from an ipod for ceremony and reception. I wonder if youtube has any videos of weddings with the instrumentalist. I agree with @@thurberwedding, they're wonderful, but even for a small wedding they're outrageously priced! @@A7Xtrish the sweetheart what? Table? Ahhh yes the sweetheart table! I'm still getting used to my tablet, haha. Oops!
amarie4713
@@A7Xtrish We have a small guest count also, around 25 people! There are definitely very few of us! I'm not sure about the sweetheart table, I've considering doing one, but since there are so few of us, I'm worried it might be weird. Where are you having your reception? It's very pretty and overlooks the ocean, and still leaves ton of privacy. We were concerned about the room being too large so we decided against having one large rectangular table. We want people to mingle and I also think that breaking up the tables will help fill the room. We want a sweetheart table facing 4 tables of 6, (8 might be too tight, want everyone to be comfortable) and we're going to have a welcome table for place cards and some kind of photos collage! I think it will be perfect! I also bought a ton of paper lanterns so that helps the room out a lot. How about you? We are booked in the bamboo room right now, but I'm not 100% sold, I'm worried it will look really empty with only 20 guests. I'm thinking if switching to the terrace, but I don't know. For the Bamboo room I would do exactly what you're doing with the tables. For the terrace, I'd do one or two long tables. I can't commit to one solid idea, and I've never seen pictures of a small wedding in the bamboo room. Anne Marie November 21, 2014-Now Jade I love the terrace, it's just outside of fhe bamboo room, while we were vacationing there last year, we saw a wedding reception in the bamboo room, they had only 2 small tables of 8, and a guitarist. I feel like they use a divider to tighten the room bc I dont recall it looking weird at all. But they didn't have dancing, they went up to the sportsbar afterwards. And I'm getting married in Sept and the mosquitoes are brutal at night, so I won't even consider castaways. Lol
amarie4713
@@A7Xtrish I wondered if they could partition it off, I used to work at a banquet Hall and we used to do it there, so I was curious about it. I haven't been in touch with the wedding coordinator yet though. I think in November the terrace won't be too bad, but I'm just not sure I'll want to be outside the whole time. I don't imagine we'll have a ton of dancing though. Are you using a DJ? Anne Marie November 21, 2014-Now Jade

We're not using a DJ, I wanted to bc I want someone to lead us for everything but I heard there's no switching and isn't worth the price.. We're going to make assorted playlists and designate someone to control it. It the wedding planning form that pilar sent, she asks for times of everything (cake cutting, dances) so I'm going to just cross my fingers that it all goes well! I've yet to email her , I'm kind of nervous, so I'm trying to sort everything out and send her all my questions and concerns at once. I have a list ready, I'm just procrastinating! We wanted this nice intimate wedding, and I know I'm getting a little out of hand with decorating and hiring an outside photographer but it's our wedding! Those pictures will be ours forever and I want them to be amazing! We're also going to have disposable cameras for the reception with an "I Spy" game. But that's it! I just want our first dance and parents dance. Neither my fiance or I dance, or party so the whole dj party thing isn't worth it lol. Also why we chose the Jade and not a resort in Cancun, so relaxing! Edited January 22, 2014 by A7Xtrish
Meg32IL
Has anyone with a large group done a dinner for just their wedding party and parents? We have over 80 guests and a wedding party/parents group of about 30. We want to do the Devine package, but have our guests go to cocktail hour and dinner on their own, then meet us at the reception room for dancing. Not sure if this would work well, but the cost to have everyone go to the dinner is over $4000... which seems crazy for an all-inclusive. We would rather spend that money on a party boat or something. Does anyone know if there is an additional price per person over 25 guests for the ceremony chair setup? And if so how much?
