I have heard other brides say they wanted to take their dress off right after the church ceremony because they were so hot. I love my dress but it really isn't meant for a destination wedding. But gosh darn it- I am going to rock it as long as I can.

Yes! Rock the gown! I have a full wedding gown too and I know I will be blazing hot!  My second dress is also a gown that I was too in love with--it should be a bit cooler thought than the ceremony gown. I have to figure out when and where I will change. I want to do my first dance in the gown that I take my vows in, but after that--that thing is coming off!

I had my hair & makeup done at the salon. my bridesmais did as well. They are extremely slow. They took about 2 hrs for hair/makeup and they took close to 3 hrs for me. My trial was 3.5 hrs (but def worth it to make sure you get what you want) Bring pics of exactly what you want...even pics of what you don't want. I had my hair done at home and took tons of pics. Wish i did the same for my makeup. It took a bit to get on the same page but once we did itncame out beautiful. Also, There is a language barrier bc none of the girls in the salon speak much English so they bring in someone to translate.

Good Morning ladies, I just Learned that each wedding is allowed two event spaces and that the cocktail hour has to take place where the reception takes place... How are you ladies handling this? Which are your locations???? We are looking at the wedding on the beach, cocktail hour at plaza colonial or Olympus terrace and reception at one of the Apollo rooms or Olympus terrace.... Were you ladies able to book the Apollo rooms one year in advance??? Thanks

Thanks so much for letting me know. I plan on renting the bridal suite and I am having my hair and makeup done and some of my guests and bridesmaids would like to as well. I was wondering how much time we would need to get ready- seems like the whole day! My wedding is at 5 but we are doing a first look and are taking pics before we head to the church so we are looking at a be done up time of 3:30 for an hour photo session and then to church! Or maybe 3:00 so we aren't cutting it close!

This was so helpful and of course, I had to be a creeper and check out your photo in your avatar. absolutely stunning wedding picture. Who was your photographer?

@ Angelnjewels- I didn't hear about this restriction but since I am getting married in the curch off-sight it probably didn't apply to me. Our cocktail party will be on Plaza Colonial and our reception will be on the beach. I wanted Olympus Terrace but it was booked. I have learned to be happy about the bech but am secretly hoping the other bride wants to cancel Olympus Terrace as her Location. I already requested the Apollo ballroom as my back up reception sight in case it rains. I would suggest you ladies do the same. If there is another wedding on your date and it rains, they might just throw you anywhere. Send an email and have it in writing what you want your backup location to be this way you aren't screwed in the end.

Any other PPR brides renting the bridal suite?

Is anyone on here getting married in a Catholic church off site?? If so what church are you using and do you have any pictures of the inside of the church??

Also, If you are marrying off site how are you getting guest to the church?  If you are using a bus or limo what company did you go through??

I'm not reserving the bridal suite--I read on a few other reviews on this site that the $300 is better spent elsewhere (my planner agreed). We are staying on at a Reserve Master one bedroom and have champagne and food brought there for my wedding party. Also I don't feel like transporting my stuff all around--I just want to have everything in one place.

We are hiring Reno and Renaud at Photo Souvenir--they have shot some beautiful weddings at the Palma Real, their pics have a photojournalistic aesthetic and their equipment is pretty good.
