2013 Moon Palace Bride-to-be!

Hi, just wondering if anyone has insight on upgrading your room to the concierge level using the resort credits. My travel agent says in order to use the credit it has to be done at the resort the day you arrive. Is there a way you can book this before you go to the resort? Can I ask the wedding coordinator to do this once my room block has been confirmed? Any info would be great.

I booked through a TA but I know past 2012 brides that booked directly through the resort had issues with time (resort taking forever to return emails, phone calls etc) and they sometimes had issues with booking links for guests to use.

Just wondering how many of you booked your rooms directly through Moon Palace? I am having some issues with my travel agent getting better prices than what the resort is offering as their wedding group rate. Has anyone gone through the resort directly? Any issues?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Do you know if those issues existed before or after they moved the wedding planning department from Miami to Mexico?

Hello Ladies, I have never been to MP but I am getting married there next year! Our room bookings are for the sunrise section and I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around the areas for cocktail/reception locations. We are planning to get married on the beach, but does anyone have suggestions on locations that will be close to the sunrise section for guests?

There are some nice outdoor terrace areas (both by the beach and further into the resort area), depending on how big your party will be. There is also a roof top area on the Grand Side. You could also consider doing something in one of the smaller ballrooms in the sunrise section.

Thank you for your response! If weather permits...So far I was thinking about the Lake Terrace or Venado Garden. Do you know how close either of these are to the sunrise section or where the beach ceremony's usually are?  I just don't want it to be too far for guests, and that way the bridal party wont have to take much time going back and forth for pictures after the ceremony.

We are Diamond members who get benefits when we let our friends and families use our membership. We have helped 4 couples this year arrange their weddings through Palace Resorts (three at Moon Palace, one at Beach Palace).  There are a number of benefits to using a member to help you arrange your wedding. First, we give you $300 off actual member rates which are substantially lower than TA's can provide you. Second, you and your guests get all of our VIP benefits (free massages, free transportation, free tours, upgraded ocean view rooms, VIP access etc).  Finally, Palace is very responsive to our inquiries and they are actually contractually obligated to answer any of our concerns within a few hours.  This really helps when you are planning a wedding. If you are interested, you can checkout palaceresorts.biz.

I don't remember exactly where those terraces are - you might be able to look at a map of the property online....As for the beach ceremony, from what I remember them saying during our inspection, ALL wedding ceremonies take place in the Nizuc section of the resort. The 2 gazebos (Tucan and Bugambilia) are there, as is the chapel. I hope that helps!
