Has anyone had both done a catholic and then the civil to make it legal right there without having to come home and do it? Just wondering I know I can do it here, but just would like to know if anyone has done the two and how it was? Thank You.

happy planning! I just got married at the Gran Caribe -did a symbolic-religious ceremony and came home and obtained the marriage license here. Its too much a hassle to do it there. You have to be in mexico a certain # of business days before the wedding and take blood tests which are expensive.

sorry i don't have more specifics. Good luck!

I just got married at the Gran Caribe chapel in December - you'll love it! It's absolutely gorgeous. Like you, I considered doing both - religious and civil to get it all over with at the same time, but it just wasn't worth the extra time, hassle, and costs. You need to get blood tests and pay extra for marriage license translations. In the end it was much simpler and cheaper to have the civil ceremony at home. Congrats and good luck!
