I am in the very beginning planning stages and having trouble deciding on the wedding package. We will have around 40-50 guests (this may change as booking gets closer) and want the traditional reception with dinner, drinks, and dancing. It looks as though the packages that would allow this are more expensive and include other things that we do not care to have (live music, massages, facials, flowers (we want to do our own), etc.). I am open to places other than the beach but really don't like the banquet hall idea. Does anyone have ideas?! THANKS!

I know that they will do wedding packages alacart but sometimes it is cheaper to go with the bare minimum package and just do the add ons of what you want and dont want. My WC Xhail is wonderful and always answers any questions... we have changed our package a bit but for the most part just went with the added perks of the massages and pampering etc. I would get in touch with one of the WC's there and just see what you can work out, they are very flexible.  Also the wedding video was amazing Mike Cantarell... I am interested in using your services as well so I will be in touch soon. Hoping there is some more activity on here because it is hard for me to keep on this thread with little activity! First Post as a new member.  Who is your WC?  My wedding is Feb 25, 2013. @4pm.   My WC is Jacquline and she hasn't gotten back to me since i confirmed my wedding date and time.  Should i be concerned?

hola karolina C and Congrats on your wedding at the incomparable Barcelo Maya Palace! you've chosen an excellent resort for your wedding!

 

This beautiful resort is chosen by more than 100 brides a month for their choice location, so the wedding co-ordinators there really know their stuff! 

 

It's helpful to keep in mind that this is Mexico - and while the WCs have so much experience and know your wedding day will run smoothly, your wedding is your Only One! so you're much more anxious to have everything perfect - very understandable. 

On the upside - the WC do have a lot of experience - and are very good at making sure all your details are in place.....so our advice is to ......exhale.......it's going to be Gorgeous!

My wedding date is 3/1/13 and my WC is also Jacqueline. If you just confirmed your wedding date I would not be concerned. She was slow to respond at first and I even had to have my travel agent send messages for a better response in the beginning. But as soon as we started the "wedding planning" she has been great and pretty quick to respond (within a week). They have sometimes several weddings a day so I think they have to prioritize...

 

I would imagine she would start the planning process with you soon since your date is before mine (we will be there at the same time...arrive on 2/26!). She will send you a spreadsheet and have you fill it out step by step. She sent the first planning email on July 24th and I just completed it (almost all planning done!). So it can be pretty quick once you start, sometimes I was the slow one trying to decide!

 

Everything will work out and you can make changes and decisions all the way up to your meeting when you get there!
