Hey Vanessa and Michelle,

Before you book your excursions, check out www.puntacanatours.com .  We've been working with Thomas Murray, and he is AMAZING!!!  The company has great reviews on Trip Advisor, he set up our own webpage that guests could go to directly to book and pay for their excursions at their leisure, AND he even gave us discount pricing!

Check out the page he set up for our group:

Hey Christine,

That's awesome my FI just saw the buggy tour and now wants to do it lol. Is there some sort of catch with this company do they charge some extra fees?

What did you ladies do for invitations? I'm looking at boarding passes  on this website http://enchanted-moments.com/boardingpass.html and really like them but omg are invites expensives cry.gif! How early before your wedding dates did you ladies send them out?

Also when has your travel agent requested deposits? We leave November 30th and he has recommended I put July 1st 2013 as my dead line to have 150$ deposit per person. I have so far 10 people who have paid their trips in full in the colonial club section so the deposits needed to hold our places on the plane and rooms for the whole group have been paid for! Its less stress of hasseling guests to give deposits so early. I booked a room in the colonial club swim up I sort of didn't trust that the resort would of upgraded my FI and I to a better room what do you girls thing?

Thanks! :)

Hi There,

I made my own boarding pass invites.  There are lots of DIY boards here if you have a creative thumb.

I sent out my invites about 12 months before.  All of the information (resort, cost, dates, etc. were in it).  I wanted to give everyone all of the info upfront so that people had time to save.  I had a group rate from my TA that was good for 90 days (price guarantee).  They had to put their deposit down at this point and then pay the remaining about 6 months prior to departure.  The price we got was amazing.  I've been watching prices online and they are about $400-$500 more than what we paid and we are less than 60 days away now.  I tried to express to everyone how great the deal was at the time and to book then ... but not everyone listens.  Now, it's too expensive for some people that wanted to come.  Can't win every battle lol

I LOVE the boarding pass invites, but was turned off by the price.  We ended up inviting over 300 people, so we had to be a little cost efficient there.  I ended up getting standard invites from Target and printing them myself.

We sent out our SAVE-THE-DATES about 10-11 months prior to the wedding, and then sent the invites at 6 months.  The deadline to have deposits in was about 6 months prior, and all remaining balances were due 2 months prior, which we just passed.  I need to get a hold of my TA to make sure that everyone paid, and that people didn't lose their deposits!!!

We also booked Cores Films for our videographer. We purchased the basic package. He is very professional. Quickly responds to every email and his sample videos seem to be pretty good quality. It is nice that he is the preferred vendor at the Majestic resorts in Punta Cana, so we do not have to pay the $300 outside vendor fee to have him there. Our wedding is not until August though, so I cannot say to much on how he is in person the day of the wedding. Will find out in about 5 months though!!

My FI and I just made DIY boarding pass invites and they were not that difficult after I found a free template on here. After that it was just picking colors and fonts and such. Haven't finished them yet, but I am printing them this week and then putting them all together.

My travel agent requires a deposit within a week of asking her to hold a room at the resort. The deposit is $125 and then guests have until around 45 days prior to their departure to have it fully paid. We chose not to hold rooms for people since we didn't know how many were coming. I am glad we did that now that our number of people coming has decreased from 40 to 25. But that is the price we pay for having destination weddings. We will be having at AHR the week after we return, and we are inviting 230 people to that.

My FI and I also booked a room in the club section since we weren't sure if they would be able to upgrade us.
