We was planning to get married at Atlantis/cloister in the Bahamas but now We are looking at getting married at Majestic Elegance on May 29th, 2013 @ the Gazebo.. Thinking maybe a 4:00 ceremony.. Wasn't sure of a good time but I don't want a big gap between the ceremony and dinner.

We just got our group rates from our TA the other night and ME sent my TA 9 attachments if anyone wants them. (I can post or email)  But they seem to be the same info as Heidi aka "Tink" and Cindy from here had sent me. These ladies just had a little bit more info purtaining to reception dinners.

Oh and would you mind emailing me your attachments you got ... I got some, but I don't think there were 9?  [email protected]  THANKS :)

I want a late afternoon ceremony as well.  No earlier than 4:00.  I think this is a good time for a few reasons ...

-Not as hot

-Not as many people gawking (a lot are gone back to their rooms by this time)

-Less time between ceremony and reception

-None of your guests need to miss the morning/afternoon by the beach/pool

What is your group rate?  I got mine and it was $1521 (Leaving Sun May 5th - Sun May 11th).

heheh.. :o) Glad to hear I'm not just stalking you.. or that would be creepy.. lol

And I most definitely agree with all of your reasons as well!..

Okay.. So I have a question about how to determine "dates" some of our guests are wanting to stay a week, we are def staying no less than a week, but I figured some may only stay for say 3nights. so I had my TA do group rates for 3 nights.. and she came back with this..

These are group rates for May 28-31, 2013 (3 nights).  The rates are per person and include hotel tax, housekeeping and bellman gratuities and round trip transfers.  I have listed the 3 night rate and additional night rate:

  Jacuzzi Jr Suite Single: $594/$180 Double: $414/$120 Triple: $378/$108 Child (0-12): $295/$84

Jr Suite Swim Up Single: $645/$197 Double: $447/$131 Triple: $408/$118 Child (0-12): $319/$92

Are your rates per person or per couple for a week? Should I up my dates?

Mine are based on two people sharing a room.  Most of my guests will want to go for a week.  In Canada it's not really worth going for only 3 days ... it costs a lot and you spend too much time traveling.  If anything we would have people going for a few extra days (not many).

What do you mean about up your dates?  Like, change your dates altogether or get a quote for more than 3 days?

Do you get better quotes for people staying longer? Or do they the same? Would it be okay if we did a week block and some stayed for less than a week?

Yes, sorry I meant get a quote for more days.

I think it makes more sense to stay 7 days versus 3 or 4.  Usually a 7 night stay is only a few hundred more and a 10 day only a few hundred more than 7 day.  Often it's the flights that cost the most.  As far as I understand it your guests can book whatever length stay they would like.  The trick is to be sure that some 3/4 night stays are available and overlap with the wedding day you choose.  Talk to your TA.  I know that flights are sometimes less frequent during the summer ... so there may be less options.

Ahh.. that makes sense.. thanks for the info. I will contact my TA to see what 7 days or 7 nights prices would be. Because it seems to me that your rates are better than mine. Does your rates include the taxes, transfers, etc?
