Bridesmaid dress help!!

Recommended Posts

I agree with JayKay...you have to do what you want...it is your wedding. The bridesmaids need to realize that being in a wedding is expensive. I was just in a wedding here that cost me almost $3000 and I did not get a trip. If you can help with the dress I would if not I would explain that this is the dress that you really want. Good luck

I contributed $75 to my BM's dresses, but I just told them to pick their own.  One of mine found a great sample dress for $75, the other two ordered brand new - so it was about $200.

I know they are opening up a Davids Bridal in Edmonton South Common - maybe have a girls weekend and come to the city?  I know its quite the drive, I'm from a small town and we used to do it all the time though! 8 hour drive to Winnipeg to go back to school shopping, get braces etc. Two of my bridesmaids did it to find their dresses.

I was going to pay for their hair and make up, so I sent an email to the girls asking which they would prefer the hair being done or me contributing to the dress. So far one has answered asking for both which I can't do, so I have been looking at discount bridal stores and other designers. I found one at Davids bridal that is similar but they are in the US and it's hard for one of them to get there. I like the idea of going to a store together and seeing what we can find so that might have to be the route we take,

Where are you in BC?  They have one in Burlington which is only 45mins across the border.  Or you could always just order one and see how it looks and if you like it order the rest then or if don't like it return it.

Ahh ok that makes sense.  You could also hit up Edmonton Mall well there and maybe find dresses in one of the many shops in that mall.  I would say if you wait one more month until March there will be lots of spring / summer dresses coming out just don't wait to long or all of a sudden its mid summer and all you can find is fall colours.  This may have happened to me and my dream of finding a dress for around a $100 went out the door lol.

And who says it has to be a 'bridesmaid' dress? We saw the most awesome dresses in department stores for less than $150 but they were just what was on the rack and not in our colors. My friend's bridesmaids wore dresses they found in the juniors section at Macy's during prom season and there are a number of ladies here that scored their BM dresses from J Crew. Guess its all about the style you're looking for.
