The flight attendants felt so bad for me they gave us free drinks on the plane and tried to upgrade us to first class but my husband turned it down so we could sit with our family on the plane (I still think that was a wrong decision on his part lol).

Thats crazy about your luggage, i know id bust out crying :( I will definitely start on a check list. I'm thinking we are going to have to purchase one more large suitcase just in case. 2 things....1) so did you take your wedding dress in a garment bag on plane and where did They have you store it? We are flying united airlines so im hoping they are nice and put it in a special place lol 2) Scott asked me to ask previous brides how much should we tip the on site coordinator?

1) yes I just brought it in the david's bridal garment bag and the put it in an overhead bin.  My dress was lace so it wasn't big or poufy or anything.

2) Well I had 2 WC- since my rehearsal was at Moon I tipped that girl $10 cause she didn't really do anything ( I met her that morning to go over the menu and she carted us over to the terrace so we could see where it was at).  I tipped my wedding coordinator (the one at Sun that helped me with the planning) $50.  I felt that was an appropriate amount- she did a great job with everything and didn't charge me to set up the decorations (well she did show up to our meeting almost 2 hours late so she better not have lol).  We tipped each wait staff person $5 or $10 (I can't remember now).  You have to hand them each individually the money or I feel that one person will pocket all the money lol.

Thanks for the tip on the tipping lol. Did you by chance use rose petals? I bought a whole bunch and now I'm asking myself why I did that! My flower girls are holding flower balls that I made them so they won't be throwing petals on the floor. I seriously bought a lot. Does the resort allow the guests to throw them at the end? Wondering if its too messy and then they have to pick them all up. I guess I could have them scatter them on the tables but if its windy then why bother? Your thoughts???

No problem!

No I did not- I was married on the beach and knew they wouldn't allow them there.  They may allow you to use them in the gazabo on the aisle or something.  Ya if it's windy it won't work on teh tables either..I would ask your WC when you get there if you can use them unless they are in big packages and you don't want to pack them.

My WC placed the rose petals on the beach along the "aisle" since we didn't have a flower girl.  Just make sure they are real and biodegradable, that is the only type they allow on the beach.

I am currently in the process of arranging my group block with my TA. I have hit a couple snags and was wondering if any of you could give me some insight.

1. I have no idea how many rooms to block. I am thinking somewhere around 10 (including our's) because that's about the number of couples I have counted that I can guarantee are coming. But, of course there are a bunch of people who I am unsure as to whether or not they will come. My TA says it's easier to drop rooms than to add more later on. Has anyone else had to add rooms? Honestly, we just don't have a ton of extra money at the moment to be putting down deposits on rooms we are unsure of. This leads to my second question...

2. My TA says I need to be as specific as possible when blocking the rooms as far as room categories + number of nights. I just don't understand how this is at all possible. I have no idea what room category and number of nights our guests will want. I was thinking about just doing the cheapest room category for 3 nights for all of the rooms, but I know there are a few guests that will simply not settle for a basic room. Also, I have no idea if people will want to stay for 3, 4, or 5+ nights. My TA said it is easier to drop a night rather than to add, (similar to the # of rooms), so does that mean I should just block them all for 5 nights?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is seriously stressing me out!

Just got back from Moon Palace a few days ago and had the BEST time ever!!!! I am hoping to put together a review by the end of the week! Please let me know if you have any questions!!
Hi there! Glad to hear you had a great time. We leave this Saturday and the only thing im begining to stress about is the weather. I happened to look yesterday at the 10 day weather forecast and it pretty much says rain/thunderstorms everyday. First, I know I shouldn't stress over what I cannot control- the weather. Second Im sure the rain/thunderstorms doesn't necessarily mean right over moon palace. But by chance did you take a look at weather forecast before you left? If so was it pretty accurate? Other than that I can't wait to read your review.

Hello! Try not to stress about the weather!!! I checked the weather a million times before we left and it said it was going to pour on my wedding day but it didn't!! We had gorgeous weather all the way up until our wedding day. It did rain ALOT the days after our wedding but I believe that is because there was a hurricane that was coming through.

I know you probably don't want to hear this because im sure the reason you are having a destination wedding is to get married outside!... but I did see a BUNCH of weddings the days that it rained and everything still looked amazing!!! Your wedding coordinator will just move your wedding inside and you will still have the best night of your life!!!
