Well I'm glad you got some answers. I was just going to use the house photographer which I am still assuming its VIPphotography? If so I can email you their packages and rates. I'm also just going to use their DJ, DJ Mannia which I have prices on as well. I pretty much have all the prices, bouquet, cake, reception menu, decor book etc. feel free to private message me ur email and maybe we can swap info that we've gotten. it is slightly frustrating that their website isn't helpful and staff takes a while to respond to emails and I also understand that our wedding is a ways away. Hi Danielle,

We're planning on just doing the symbolic ceremony. We're also planning to just use the sound system rather than have a DJ since we have a fairly small group.

If you don't mind, i'd like the price list. The list they sent out after the webinar was specifically for the excellence, and the attachment they sent for the beloved didn't have prices attached.  Did you get something different from the hotel? I'll send you a PM.  Thanks!

I just got married at The Beloved Hotel/La Amada on April 14! I am happy to help in any way I can, since this website bascially planned my wedding for me! :)

Everything about my wedding day and the stay before and after was absolutely perfect. I had 31 guests, which they said is a lot for that resort. It is such a small resort all the staff knew who we were and all of the guests. They were so accommodating when we all ate at Aroma the first night and overwhelemed them! They are definately not accustomed to large groups, but they work with it.

One thing about the WC's I had 3. Which was annoying, but actually worked out. Alejandro is super nice and competent. The e-mail respnoses will get faster the closer to the wedding.

My wedding was on the beach, followed by a cocktail hour, and reception at Natura bar. Natura bar is not a usual restaurant or bar, they only use it for "special occasions" so it is out of the way of other guests, private, but not on the beach. The only con to that is the "kiddie park" is right behind it. Initally thought that would matter but when it was dark you couldn't even see it, and the playground was not in any pictures.

When you have your wedding there, a company called Planner 1 does the flowers, dance floor, etc. It was confusing on what the hotel handled and what planner 1 handled. The dance floor was expensive and totally worth every penny! We also paid extra to extend the reception an hour (We have friends who love to dance).

We used DJ Mannia for the music, they did a great job. I sent them a list of songs we liked, and they played many of them. They did not however play any slow songs. It was all fast dancing music, which we loved but people were getting a bit tired! They didn't have our first dance song, so they just downloaded it and said we could request any song and they would get it.

For photography we used Photos in Cancun. I HIGHLY recommend them! Derek and Lorena are wonderful photographers and really fun to be around! They took amazing candid shots, "artsy" shots and the regular ones too. They had a mini photo shoot with each couple/family that was there, and my guests loved that! Even with the vendor fee at the resort, it was still a better deal than many other photgraphers. You get all the pictures right then, and you own them all. (Which is different from many photgraphers).

I hope that helps, please feel free to ask any questions!

Oh yeah, and don't worry they are great at weddings and will get it done. I forgot to ask for some things, and they just made it happen. Perfection!

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got back from my wedding at The Beloved. We got married at Villa Balam Ha on May 19th. Everything was amazing and my best advice is not to over stress or over plan. Wendy Hicks is an angel and I highly recomend using her help. This hotel has been through 4 wedding planners since we started planning. We decided on food, flowers, dj , bonfire, cake etc four times. Yes, it is still very hard to get a hold of anyone or get a retun on an email. I emailed and called to get info sometimes once a week for months. But when push came to shove, I picked my menu, my cake, my flowers, and all other details on the Wed before the wedding and everything exceeded my expectations. Nayeli was awesome!!! We changed the menu around to suit dietary needs. We changed the flower arangement to suit our colors. We did all of that the day of our blood test, 3 days before the wedding, and it all turned out perfect.  We have been staying at this hotel since the week it opened and knew it was the place we needed to get married. The house we rented was private and we had the whole beach to ourselves. Our guests have only great things to say. I would have saved my stress level had I known that weddings in Mexico are not the big mental and financial drain they are in the US. Every staff meber was more than happy to go above and beyond, from the valet, to the bartenders, to the staff who served our dinner at the Villa. Thanks to every person who helped us make our wedding the greatest week of our lives!!!
