We are also deciding on a Welcome Party for everyone. Since we are not doing a beach reception I would really like to have the Welcome Party on the beach. We have been discussing what we should do...if we should do a dinner or just cocktail party. We are going down the end of November to do a site visit so I was hoping to get more insight into this as far as pricing and stuff...but you seem to have the prices already!

What's everyone's thoughts on the in-house florist? I think I'm going to use them, since they have gotten pretty good recommendations on here.I just wanted to know as far as centerpieces go are they flexible in the design of what  you want? In looking through the catalogue they don't seem to have anything that I love, but if they are willing to work with you than that's fine.

I have been talking to Marvin to get some ideas for floral.  He's been great and I definately plan on using him. His prices are reasonable too, I think.

Also we purchased my wedding band yesterday!  So excited!  We ordered it from Blue Nile so I can't wait for it to actually arrive.

A private welcome dinner on the beach is $30 per person for a 3 course meal.  What I didn't like about it was that the menu choices are the same as the choices for the wedding meal.  We did a tasting of 3 meals when we went for our site visit.  We chose the 2 we liked best.  None of the other foods really stuck out to us.  We don't want to do the same food for a rehearsal or welcome dinner as the wedding.  The other option is the buffet which sounds great but it's a min of 50 people, meaning you have to pay for 50 people either way, and at $40 a person that is a little pricey.  If we were actually going to have 50 people I would't mind, but we are expecting about 35, so we've decided against this.

I'm mad we didnt do any tastings when we went for the site visit!! which did you guys end up choosing? We are doing the seafood stuffed chicken and the beef fillet. Happybridetobe- they will require you to sign a form acknowledging the rules of the chapel. I emailed the priest directly, and he said he would make an exception for only the bride. But from what I've heard on the forums people have signed the form and wore strapless dresses, as did their BM and guests and no one said anything so I'm really not sure. Catish11- we picked the shrimp with jambalaya rice and the beef fillet. We also tried a pasta from the vegetarian menu and it was just ok.
