2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Ok friends here us the update: the royal/gcr will be contacting brides soon. All real properties gave been sold to another company. The royal is the only one being rebranded by Hyatt and going thru a name change. There will v construction from now thru nov 15th of this yr but it will consist of fairly minor stuff like new lighting, bed spreads, curtains, dishwater etc. all ability to go between resorts will stay the same. I was reassured by management with the new owners that all contracts are honored and they want us all to know they will make sure our weddings are great. So! Isn't as bad as I initially feared.

Not 100% Accurate. Real Resorts was not sold/acquired. The entered into a merger with Playa Hotels & Resorts (Playa) which is quite different. Playa entered a strategic partnership with Hyatt (which is also different) including the rebranding of THE Royal. Here is the official announcement sent out to Trade Partners.

August 16, 2013   Dear Travel Industry Partners,   It is with great pleasure that we announce the merger of Real Resorts with Playa Hotels & Resorts, a well-established owner and investor of all-inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Simultaneously Playa signed an agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to exclusively flag and manage the new Hyatt-branded all-inclusive resorts in five Latin American and Caribbean countries as the final result of months of negotiations between Playa‟s CEO Mr. Bruce Wardinski, his great staff and us; this Hyatt - Playa Hotels agreement has created an excellent business opportunity to merge Real Resorts with Playa Hotels & Resorts to create a powerful ownership and management resort company with an exclusive focus on upscale and luxury all-inclusive growing trend.   What does this mean for you, our valued travel industry partners? It means you will still receive the same great service and travel agent perks that you have come to expect and enjoy from Real Resorts in more properties where your guests will continue to enjoy the best all-inclusive lifetime experiences in the industry….except it will all get even better with the Hyatt renowned wonderful touches! We are very proud to announce that THE ROYAL Cancun was chosen as the first new Hyatt-branded Luxury all-inclusive, all adults resort to be rebranded next November, with the same passion and dedication to excellence in an ambience conducive to romance. The Barcelo Los Cabos also will be Hyatt branded in November as a family luxury all-inclusive. During the fall there will be improvements at the resorts to meet Hyatt brand standards in the back-of-the-house and decoration non-intrusive at all to our valued guests. Of course, all of your current and new bookings remain intact under the same terms, to enjoy our known passion to please guests´ experiences.   THE ROYAL Playa del Carmen, the Gran Caribe Real Cancun and Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen will remain branded as they are with the same great staff atmosphere and excellent „service from the heart.‟   We realize this is big news and a surprising change! But please be assured we are, as always, committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Now we all at Real Resorts are extra motivated to keep on “Doing everything with love†to remain exceeding your valued clients´ expectations.   As always, we ask you for your continued vital support and to keep working hand in hand with us as you always have. We will continue to strive to be the best that made all of us unique from other all-inclusive resorts. Remember you made a difference here in the Real Resorts family now happily expanded with the partnership with Playa Hotels and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts all-inclusive; let us continue together in this exciting venture. Thank you again and please help us to spread the Good News.   Sincerely,   Ing. Fernando García Zalvidea General Helper Real Resorts – Playa Resorts

That's cool. "Of course, all of your current and new bookings remain intact under the same terms, to enjoy our known passion to please guests´ experiences." That's statement sums up the most important thing to me. Wedding arrangements stay the same. I just hope the "non-instrusive" improvements really are non intrusive for the sake of the fall brides :)

Ladies, my WC just sent me this letter about the Royal...

August 30, 2013

Dear Guests:

We know how important every detail of your upcoming wedding is to your happiness.  Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we share with you the exciting news that THE ROYAL Cancun will be a premier resort in the new collection of Hyatt-branded all-inclusive resorts.  By mid-November 2013 our fantastic resort will officially become the Hyatt Zilara Cancun.  The Hyatt Zilara brand, which was derived from the word “exhilarate,†will inspire guests to embrace new discoveries through activity-driven experiences and will continue to provide the upscale adult-only, all-inclusive experience that has made THE ROYAL Cancun so successful.

Most importantly absolutely nothing regarding your wedding plans will change. Your contract and bookings, services and arrangements remain intact under the terms of your agreement.  There will not be any rate changes in relation to existing agreements for your package and the extras with the new brand.  The same dedicated professional wedding planning staff and coordinators will continue to work with you to ensure that every detail of your celebration is in place.  In addition, the relationship with Real Resorts and the adjacent Gran Caribe Real Resort stays in place, so your guests who may be staying at this family-friendly resort can still come (with their children) and enjoy your wedding celebration.

The rebranding is the direct result of the resortâ€s new partner/owner, Playa Hotels & Resorts B.V., exclusive agreement with Hyatt to be the first franchisee and management company for Hyattâ€s entry into the all-inclusive resort segment.  As the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, we will be making some enhancements to the resort to ensure a true ‘Hyatt†experience.   These upgrades will be seamless and transparent to guests as they primarily encompass back-of-the-house changes and furnishing updates.  We will also be enhancing some of our F&B experiences to provide an even more upscale dining experience and ensure an excellent venue for your wedding.

We look forward to helping you celebrate to make your Dream become Real with your upcoming wedding vows through our gracious service from the heart.  Thank you for your trust in us.  We are very excited to continue exceeding your expectations at THE ROYAL Cancun and providing a wonderful experience for our guests in the near future as the Hyatt Zilara Cancun.  If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to let us know.

Sincerely,

Fernando García Zalvidea

Real Resorts and Playa Hotels & Resorts B.V.

Yes.  Katia confirmed with me that the Hyatt (Royal) guests will have the same full access at the Gran Caribe as they had when they were sister properties.
