2013 Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Brides

Recommended Posts

After many long hours of research and not being able to find exactly what we're looking for in an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, I'm thinking about moving the location to Mexico. Not only are the cheaper airfare, lower resort costs and better wedding packages enticing, there's a lot more options for people wanting an all-inclusive resort that allows children. Seriously girls, if you take the time to check into other places, it is sad to realize how much Iberostar Rose Hall overcharges. Now that I've seen the light, I highly doubt we'll be getting married there.

I assume you are not getting legally married abroad?   Because if you are beware that Mexico has many restrictions (including blood tests taken in Mexico).  Matt and I wanted somewhere that was simple, spoke English (legal weddings in Mexico and DR appear to be in Spanish, including your marriage certificate - I am not signing anything I can't read 100% - and I speak Spanish but you never know), and had many all inclusives (which took out the Bahamas).  Just something to think about.  If you are not planning on getting legally wed abroad than you have so many places you can look at.  My TA highly recommended the DR.  I have seen some absolutely beautiful weddings in Mexico too, but because of the violence there I don't want to bring my family and friends there.  Jamaica is said to be nice and accomodating to large parties so I chose Jamaica.

Hello everyone!  I'm new to this site and have already found so much information, it's kinda overwhelming!  LOL

I recently booked my date at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach for 11-12-13 (cool date, huh?).  I am also considering the Suites, but really want to make it reasonable for our guests to attend the wedding.  We are thinking we will have about 30 + people attending.  I've been getting mixed reactions from family about having a destination wedding, but I've read that will happen.  Mostly everyone is very excited to be going to Jamaica for our wedding.

I've read that people have had trouble keeping in contact with the WC there and I absolutely agree.  I sent back my wedding agreement along with a copy of a credit card and having received confirmation that they received.  It's just a little scary knowing they have our information and our wedding is still over a year away.

I've also read that some of you have gotten prices for the packages for 2013?  Is that true?  I was told that the prices haven't come out for 2013 yet, so they sent me the 2012 prices.  f anyone has that info and would like to share it, that would be wonderful!

The WC from the Suites takes a bit to reply back, but she does reply. You have over a year before your wedding so I wouldn't stress over not hearing right away.

I've been told you don't start to do any of the planning until a few months before your wedding date anyways So after your date is confirmed there isn't much more to do in reagards to the resort until a few months before your wedding.

Ztag, I was super indecisive too! It took me forever just to choose a country. Once we finally chose Jamaica, I wanted to get married in Negril. but both my FI and parents complained about making my guests travel over 2 hours from the airport to get down there. So we decided on the Iberostar over Beaches or Couples because in our opinion the Iberostar is a better resort and LESS of a marriage factory than the other chains. Planning with Iberostar has not been easy because there are many things not included in our package (we're doing the free wedding at the Grand, which is definitely not free). Beaches, Couples, & Riu will have multiple weddings per day and they have set wedding packages designed by Martha Stewart (which is great if you really just want to show up). However, I would still prefer to get married in Negril. They have many small, intimate resorts in Negril and depending on your guest numbers you could easily rent out the whole resort. Plus they still have wedding coordinators on site to help you plan. Good luck! (btw we're headed to Negril for our honeymoon after the wedding)

Does anyone else feel that Iberostar has a monopoly on the wedding market in Jamaica? The more I look at their wedding packages and think about what all will have to be upgraded or added the more frustrated I get with them. I want to remain positive throughout this wedding planning experience, but that's the one thing that keeps bothering me.

Did anyone else consider any of the other resorts such as Couples or Beaches? I've decided to spend a little more time researching other places before getting so locked down on Iberostar.  I didn't realize until today that the beach in Negril was so much nicer than the one in Montego Bay. It almost seems a shame to take our guests to Jamaica and not stay in Negril so they can enjoy the most beautiful beaches the island has to offer.  Lol my fiance is probably going to kill me if I keep bothering him with so much resort indecisiveness!!!
