No Vendor fee for DJ Kevan as he is the DJ that the resort says to use.  I went directly on his website to book him, but it was the wedding coordinators that gave me the information to book him.  There is a 3 hour minimum though.

Really, that's great info!  I didn't realize he was their preferred vendor!  Thanks for the heads up!

I contacted him directly through his Facebook, he got back to me within a day ... he told me a 4 hour minimum ... and even though he is the DJ the resort uses, the prices are not what the resort quotes @ $150/hr.

Haha tell me about it !! I've been told so many different things from so many different brides, vendors, TA's and WC's !! It gets frustrating, but I save everything in my emails ... so I think i'll be ok lol. I wish the planning would go as smooth as everybody says the wedding day does !! :)

Hi girls, is everyone using one of the set wedding packages (ie the golden coast, etc)? I feel like theres alot of things i wouldn't use or don't pertain to my situation or plans for my wedding. does anyone know the costs for minister fees without going through one of the set packages?  It just seems like there's alot of unknown areas of where the money is going to when we sit and break down the amounts. I'm also having a hard time getting a group rate from the hotel. any one have any advice??

We got our hotel and flight package through a travel agent in Calgary. They got us a package through Sunquest with Westjet flights. I've had my ups and downs with them but in the end I think it's a decent rate. We initially waited to go to Jamaica until January as I really wanted direct flights and was told the direct flights are only in effect from Christmas - April. Then after everyone had paid their deposits they said all direct flights from Calgary were cancelled and we had to take connecting flights through Toronto. So now we are taking the red-eye out of Calgary and connect in the morning in Toronto. It's definitely not ideal.

Absolutely go with a TA !! I don't believe the resort will work with anyone but a TA to be honest. As far as the wedding package ... it couldn't hurt to ask ? You may want to consider getting married off site if you really want to customize your day... I was pretty skeptic about paying $18 a head for champagne and cake as well !! I can tell you ... that Tai Flora (the place the bouquet and bout come from ) only credit you $45 if you're not using them and want to purchase something else from them.

I have been trying to get a response from Tia Flora since August to no avail.  I e-mailed the Beach Resort about the problems I am having.  I also said that I don't want to work with a florist who clearly has no interest in me.  The resort said I could e-mail them and she would contact Tia for me since it is there florist. I was further told that if I use someone else I have to pay the $175.00 vendor fee!  I think it is an outrage!  :(
