How is everyone going about getting their OOT bags to their destination?

Is it best to pack & ship it all down there? I am afraid with my luck it'll get lost or stuck in customs & miss our wedding!

Or do you pack them at home & put in luggage? I heard anything glass cannot be carried on the plane, so all my DIY ideas that are glass wuld have to be checked eek!!
